About the RoleMillington &amp; Co. is hiring a Tax Manager to lead client engagements, deliver proactive tax strategy, and mentor staff in a growing public accounting firm.This is a client-facing, advisory-focused role&mdash;not just tax preparation. You will manage an existing book of business while working directly with firm leadership on complex tax planning and firm growth initiatives.Core Responsibilities<ul><li>Review and manage complex tax returns: 1040 (high-income / multi-entity), 1065 (partnerships), 1120S / 1120 (corporations), 1041 (trusts &amp; estates)</li><li>Deliver proactive tax planning strategies for business owners and high-net-worth individuals</li><li>Manage multiple engagements with responsibility for deadlines, budgets, and realization</li><li>Serve as primary client contact and trusted advisor</li><li>Identify tax savings opportunities and communicate actionable recommendations</li><li>Supervise, review, and mentor staff/senior accountants</li><li>Improve internal workflows, processes, and efficiency</li><li>Participate in business development, referrals, and client retention</li></ul>Required Qualifications <ul><li>Active CPA or EA license</li><li>5+ years public accounting tax experience</li><li>2+ years experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagements</li><li>Strong technical expertise in: Partnership taxation (Form 1065), S-Corporations (Form 1120S), Individual taxation (Form 1040)</li><li>Experience working directly with clients</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with trusts &amp; estates (Form 1041)</li><li>Experience advising closely held businesses</li><li>Familiarity with Thomson Reuters, UltraTax, QuickBooks, or similar platforms</li><li>Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff</li><li>Background in tax planning and advisory (not just compliance)</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Competitive base salary starting at $120,000+ (DOE)</li><li>Lucrative performance bonus structure (production + realization driven)</li><li>401(k) with employer match</li><li>Firm sponsored health insurance and other benefits</li><li>4 weeks PTO &amp; 10+ paid holidays</li><li>Flexible work schedule</li><li>Firm-paid CPA license, CPE, and professional dues</li><li>Wellness reimbursement</li><li>Referral bonuses (employee &amp; client)</li><li>Clear path to Senior Manager / Partner track</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: From $120,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Work from home</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Tax experience/public accounting: 3 years (Preferred)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>CPA (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
