We are seeking a hands-on Controller / Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and financial operations across our two dealerships and real estate company. This is a high-visibility role working directly with ownership.We are looking for someone who can own the accounting function from the ground up: payables, receivables, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and process improvement. This is not a role for someone who only reviews work. We need a strong operator who is comfortable doing the work and keeping the books clean, accurate, and current.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Oversee full-cycle accounting for two dealerships and related real estate entities</li><li>Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, expense coding, and cash disbursements</li><li>Manage accounts receivable, deposits, cash receipts, and collections follow-up</li><li>Track all money coming in and all money going out across the businesses</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations</li><li>Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation</li><li>Lead month-end and year-end close</li><li>Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, management reports, and budget-vs-actual reporting</li><li>Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time</li><li>Monitor cash position and support ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning</li><li>Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures</li><li>Coordinate with outside CPA/tax firm for year-end tax work, compliance, and audit/review support</li><li>Support payroll, commissions, sales tax, 1099s, and other finance/admin processes as needed</li><li>For dealership operations, handle accounting related to inventory, deal activity, reserves, floor plan/lender accounts, and title-related accounting where applicable</li><li>For real estate operations, track entity-level expenses, rent or other property income where applicable, vendor invoices, and multi-entity reporting</li><li>Identify process improvements and help build a cleaner, more efficient accounting function</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar hands-on role</li><li>Automotive dealership accounting experience required</li><li>Experience handling AP, AR, bank recs, journal entries, close, reporting, and budgeting</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls</li><li>Experience with multi-entity accounting</li><li>Strong Excel skills</li><li>Experience with dealership DMS/accounting systems and standard accounting software</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or Finance required</li><li>CPA, CMA, or equivalent controller-level experience required</li><li>Real estate or property management accounting experience preferred</li><li>Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to work independently</li></ul>Why Join Us<ul><li>Direct access to ownership and decision-making</li><li>High-impact role across multiple businesses</li><li>Opportunity to build structure and improve processes</li><li>Stable, long-term position with clear responsibility</li></ul>ScheduleMonday through Friday during standard business hours.
