<div><div>The Tactical Space Systems Group (Group 96) develops technologies and prototypes to enhance the performance and resilience of U.S. space systems and to provide flexible new space capabilities to the U.S. Government. The Group executes both large-scale system prototypes including satellite payloads and ground systems, as well as earlier stage technology development and demonstration programs with partner groups across the laboratory. The group is predominantly composed of scientists and engineers with expertise in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, electronics and software/firmware.</div><div><div><div><div>
JOB DESCRIPTION</div>

Group 96 is seeking an Associate Staff member to join our multidisciplinary engineering team building space prototypes. Depending on background, this might involve systems engineering, design (Mechanical, electrical, thermal, optical, controls etc.) or hardware assembly, integration and test. The successful candidate will have a broad background of life experience in these areas, and an interest in following space prototypes through the full life cycle.</div>

The role requires a background in hardware engineering, broadly defined. The candidate will be expected to work in a team environment, owning delivery of a hardware subsystem for a prototyping effort. This will involve focused engineering work in their own discipline, as well as collaboration with others across the team to execute design, build and test activities to deliver their subsystem.</div></div></div><div><div><div>
REQUIREMETNS:</div>
</div><div><ul><li>A Master&rsquo;s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related field
<ul><li>A Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in one of the above fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience will also be considered.</li>
</ul></li><li>Previous experience in hardware development for field applications.</li>
<li>Interest in development of high reliability hardware for space applications.</li>
<li>Excellent spoken and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li>

The Business/Systems Analyst will design, develop and administer project initiatives to improve efficiencies within the Laboratory&rsquo;s Procurement, Data Management, Reporting, and Business Processes functions.</div><br>

The successful candidate will provide strategic business analysis and assist in the design of solutions to support business requirements for the Contracting Services Department and the Laboratory. Assigned business processes include the areas of Procurement, Data Management, B2B, Report Design, Spend Analytics, and Business Process efficiency. This position will partner heavily with IT, Finance, and other functional areas on system development and to identify stakeholder requirements. Will lead projects as assigned. Good business acumen and demonstrated experience in an Analytics or Systems Management environment is required.</div></div></div><div></div><div><div><div><br>
Duties include</div></div><div></div><div><br>

<li>Design, build and implement standardized business processes, interfacing with Laboratory IT Staff and various Laboratory stakeholders as required</li>
<li>Develop and enhance business intelligence required to drive Procurement and Materials Management functions and support the overall acquisition strategy for the Contracting Services Department</li>
<li>Communicate new policies and procedures impacting the department and Laboratory</li>
<li>Assisting with the development and maintenance of e-Procurement systems</li>
<li>Analyzing and improving the Laboratory&rsquo;s current business management/analytics practices, policies and procedures</li>
<li>Documenting business needs, analyzing current system capabilities and identifying gaps between business needs and existing functionality; design and document solutions as needed</li>
<li>Design and execution of standard queries and ad-hoc reports necessary in support of assigned analyses and projects</li>
<li>Opportunities for database/dashboard development and coding automation</li>
<li>Automating processes with AI, macros, power queries, and other tools</li></ul></div></div><div></div><div><div><div><br>
Minimum Qualifications</div></div><div></div><div><br>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration, Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field</li>
<li>0-3 years of experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials &amp; Inventory Control, or Business Analytics &amp; Design (or a combination thereof)</li>
<li>Strong analytical/computer skills &ndash; a demonstrated skill set with Excel, MS Office, AI LLMs, data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)</li>
<li>Exposure to basic programming/scripting (Excel macros, simple web design, JavaScript for forms, etc)</li>
<li>Good problem solving, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills with attention to detail &ndash; ability to monitor and manage ServiceNow requests is necessary in this role</li>
<li>Familiarity with SAP, S/4HANA, SRM or comparable ERP systems</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment along with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously is a key factor to success within this position</li>
<li>Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus for this role</li>
<li>ISM/APICS/PMI similar certification is highly desirable for this opportunity</li>
