We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Buyer/Material Planner, based out of our Sterling Heights, MI location. This role will report to the Manager of Purchasing & Logistics at the plant level.
 
The Role: 
<ul>
<li>Utilizes best practices for logistics departments across the Corporation and implements continuous improvement wherever possible</li>
<li>Drive materials planning process and inventory min/max management to avoid stockouts, expedites and overstocking</li>
<li>Provide direction to suppliers and release materials required for supporting production</li>
<li>Work with Plant Customer Service to ensure all Customer specific requirements are satisfied</li>
<li>Assist with physical inventories and conduct audits/cycle counts</li>
<li>Expedite required materials to support ongoing production</li>
<li>Meet inventory levels, min/max values, as set by team</li>
<li>Coordinate purchased part engineering changes with engineering team to minimize obsolescence</li>
</ul>
Our ideal candidate: 
<ul>
<li>Has a minimum of 3 years’ related experience in Purchasing, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management in automotive environment</li>
<li>Has post - secondary education in Purchasing, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management</li>
<li>Understands bill of materials, contracts, terms, conditions, purchase orders</li>
<li>Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively</li>
<li>Has advanced Computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of ERP systems</li>
<li>Complete understanding of the IAATF 16949 policies and procedures required for the Purchasing and Materials department</li>
