As a <b>Senior Firmware Engineer</b> on MKS&rsquo;s Flow Solutions team, you will be a key contributor within a highly collaborative, cross-functional group, developing embedded firmware that powers advanced mass flow controllers and metering technologies used in semiconductor manufacturing and other cutting-edge industries.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
You Will Make an Impact By:</b></h3><ul><li>
Contributing to the architecture, design, implementation, verification, and validation of firmware for embedded systems.</li><li>
Partnering with customers to understand application needs and integration challenges, delivering innovative features that enhance product performance and customer success.</li><li>
Supporting hardware bring-up, debugging, and diagnostics at the board and system level.</li><li>
Collaborating closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and scientists to solve complex technical challenges and drive product innovation.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Skills You Bring:</b></h3><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>
5+ years of experience developing embedded systems and algorithms.</li><li>
Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with debugging tools such as emulators, oscilloscopes, and communication bus analyzers.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):</b></h3><ul><li>
Experience with EtherCAT, DeviceNet, or similar industrial field buses.</li><li>
Familiarity with Python and/or FreeRTOS.</li><li>
Experience with SPI, I2C, and other board-level communication protocols.</li><li>
Experience working with STM32 microcontrollers.</li><li>
Strong troubleshooting skills down to the component/board level.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Work Environment</b></h3><p>
Operates in a professional office environment, working extensively with computers and standard engineering tools.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Compensation &amp; Benefits</b></h3><p>
Salary range: $101,675 &ndash; $140,000, based on experience, skills, and business needs. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
