<div><b>Description: Moffat County School District is looking for a motivated, caring, and enthusiastic person to fill a High School Special Education Teacher position at Moffat County High School.</b></div><br>
<ul><li><b>Salary: Teacher salary is commensurate with education and teaching experience: $51,000 - $75,580/year</b></li></ul><br>
<div><b>Education and/or Experience: Minimum requirement &ndash; Bachelor's degree(B.A.) from a four year college or university. Flexible, works well with a team, dependable, loves kids, good classroom management, good people skills and communication. Should be familiar with working with at risk populations and associated interventions. Familiar with State and Federal IEP reporting requirements. Good understanding of collaborative processes and data dialogues.</b></div><br>
<div><b>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible or already in possession of a Colorado Teaching License/certificate endorsed in Special Education.</b></div><br>

<div><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned</b></div><br>
<div><ul><li><div><b>Along with parents and classroom teachers the Special Education teacher will assess students' skills to determine their needs and develop and implement Individualized Education Programs for each student based on their specific needs and abilities. Monitor the progress of these programs and update them as needed.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Teach and mentor students one on one, in small groups, or as a class.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Organize and assign activities to students based on their individual needs and learning abilities.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Supervise and mentor paraprofessionals and staff who work with individuals with disabilities.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Develop clear success criteria that is used as an instructional tool for students.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Communicate clearly with students, parents, administration, and colleagues.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs and serves on staff committees as required.</b></div>
</li></ul><ul><li><div><b>Maintains records and makes such reports as required and directed by the administration.</b></div></li></ul><br>
</div><div><b>Supervisory Responsibilities: The employee supervises students in the class, parents and volunteers.</b></div><br>

 <div><b>Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</b></div><br>
<div><b>Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</b></div><br>
<div><b>Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.</b></div><br>
