We are located in the San Isabel National Forest near Garfield, Colorado, just 20 minutes from Salida, Colorado. We are 5 miles from a ski resort and the Continental Divide, attracting skiers, hikers, and vacationers year-round.We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the hotel&rsquo;s general facility operations and assist with our on-site water and wastewater systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and fully functioning environment for guests and staff. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and monitoring tasks with minimal supervision. HOURS<ul><li>40-hour work week, 5 days per week (including weekends and holidays)</li><li>8am &ndash; 5pm (On-Call in PM for Emergencies on Friday &amp; Saturday)</li><li>On Call for Event and Special Needs</li></ul>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - This position has varied tasks, duties, and responsibilities. This job description does not attempt to list all duties that may be performed in this position.<ul><li>Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and mechanical systems.</li><li>Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house systems to ensure safety and proper operation.</li><li>Assist the Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) with water and wastewater plant operations, including sampling, data logging, monitoring pumps and gauges, supporting compliance reporting, and handling sludge transport.</li><li>Respond promptly to maintenance requests from the front desk or management.</li><li>Maintain organized maintenance logs, inventories, and service records.</li><li>Support seasonal projects such as weatherproofing, snow removal, and shuttle transport.</li><li>Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and minor equipment servicing.</li><li>Assist with event setup and breakdown, including furniture and equipment.</li><li>Communicate effectively with management via text, photos, and links for task updates.</li><li>Source materials, parts, and contractor bids as needed.</li><li>Adhere to all facility, environmental, and safety standards.</li></ul>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS<ul><li>Pay Rate: $25 per hour (non-exempt).</li><li>Yearly bonus based on performance</li><li>50% Employee Discount for our on-site restaurant</li><li>30% Employee Discount for lodging for friends and family</li><li>Free Parking</li><li>Free Housing &amp; Utilities</li></ul>Employee Housing Includes:<ul><li>Private room with private bathroom (you do not share or &ldquo;bunk&rdquo; with other employees)</li><li>Furnished with mini-fridge, microwave, and TV</li><li>Free utilities: electricity, gas, water, trash pickup, cable and wi-fi access.</li></ul>Housing Guidelines:<ul><li>Children 17 years or younger must be supervised and may not be left unattended at any time.</li><li>Non-employees 18 and older who are not full-time employees of the hotel will be required to pay bi-weekly rent, which includes those residing as family members or roommates within your housing unit.</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Proven Maintenance Experience -* 2 years (required) *</li><li>Water and Wastewater Plant Experience &ndash; (preferred)</li><li>Employment Verification - (required) Applicant must submit the previous employer's contact information for employment verification. Applicant without verifiable employment will not be considered.</li><li>Valid Driver's License - (required).</li><li>Reliable Vehicle - (required) - Due to our remote, mountain location (20 minutes from the nearest city, with no public transportation) employees must have a reliable vehicle.
