Role Summary:</b></p><p>
The Technical Service &amp; Continuous Improvement Engineer provides expert technical support to customers and internal teams while driving operational excellence through structured process improvement initiatives. This hybrid role combines hands‑on technical problem-solving, customer-facing support, and Lean/Six Sigma&ndash;based improvement efforts to enhance product performance, service quality, and operational efficiency.</p><p><b>
Your Mission:</b></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Technical Service &amp; Support</b></h2><ul><li>
Maintain and update detailed technical drawings, specifications, and design files for multiwall sack constructions.</li><li>
Partner with procurement to evaluate and qualify new materials and suppliers.</li><li>
Support product qualification trials ensuring successful integration into production processes.</li><li>
Contributes to the design, testing, and validation of multiwall paper bag structures and material specifications to meet customer requirements.</li><li>
Coordinate third‑party laboratory testing, including specialized services such as UN/DOT certification testing.</li><li>
Support Bag School training programs for Customers, Operations, Sales and other external/internal employees.</li><li>
Troubleshoot product and process issues by gathering data, performing root‑cause analysis, and driving cross‑functional corrective actions.</li><li>
Prepare and deliver monthly reports summarizing business development activities and technical project progress.</li><li>
Maintain accurate documentation required for ISO, SQF, and other applicable quality‑management systems.</li><li>
Maintain an up‑to‑date understanding of plant capabilities and communicate them to internal and external teams.</li><li>
Serve as the key user for UpKeep and Reach digital platforms.</li><li>
Manage UL documentation requirements and coordinate quarterly UL audits to ensure compliance.</li><li>
Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.</li><li>
Assist finance with maintaining ISCA article groups and related COPA configuration data.</li><li>
Support procurement and supply chain teams by identifying and validating suitable material substitutions.</li><li>
Perform bag sizing calculations and develop sizing recommendations based on product requirements and manufacturing constraints.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Continuous Improvement (CI)</b></h2><ul><li>
Analyze production or service processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.</li><li>
Lead structured problem-solving initiatives and root-cause analyses.</li><li>
Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and visual management systems.</li><li>
Collect and analyze operational data (KPIs, cycle time, OEE, defect rates, downtime, etc.)</li><li>
Use statistical analysis to validate improvements and quantify impact.</li><li>
Present performance trends and project results to leadership.</li><li>
Foster a continuous improvement mindset across operations, engineering, and support teams.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Customer &amp; Internal Collaboration</b></h2><ul><li>
Communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>
Work closely with Quality and Operations to drive feedback loops and prevent reoccurrence of failures.</li><li>
Assist Sales and technical sales with technical insights, customer trials, and product performance evaluations that ensure customer needs can be met.</li><li>
Perform additional tasks as directed.</li></ul><p><b>
Your Profile:</b></p><ul><li>
5+ years of experience in process engineering or continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment required</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Packaging Engineering (preferred). Also open to Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related field</li><li>
Working knowledge of Lean or Continuous improvement tools (5S, VSM, Kaizen, RCA)</li><li>
Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment or technical service environments preferred</li><li>
Familiarity with EPR systems being SAP the most preferred; and data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI and Minitab) preferred</li><li>
Experience implementing Standard Work, visual management, or service process improvements preferred</li><li>
Strong trouble-shooting, diagnostic and analytics skills &ndash; high attention to detail</li><li>
Hands-on technical experience in service, maintenance, engineering, or field support</li><li>
Ability to work independently and ability to interact at multiple levels within management and functional groups both internally and externally</li><li>
Excellent communication skills for both customer-facing and internal collaboration</li><li>
Ability to travel to customer sites, Mondi facilities and trade shows as required</li></ul><p><b>
