 Job Description
 
 
 
 Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. This role will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineering teams to ensure reliable and high-quality data solutions.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Architecture &amp; Design
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Design and own our end-to-end data platform architecture on Databricks and Apache Spark
 </li>
 <li>
 Define standards for data modeling, pipeline design, and data quality across the organization
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate and introduce new tools and frameworks as the team and company scales
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive decisions on medallion architecture, Delta Lake structure, and cluster optimization
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Engineering &amp; Delivery
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Build and maintain robust, scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Spark and Databricks workflows
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop reusable frameworks, libraries, and templates that accelerate team productivity
 </li>
 <li>
 Own reliability and observability of our data pipelines &mdash; monitoring, alerting, and incident response
 </li>
 <li>
 Write clean, well-documented, testable code and hold the bar for engineering quality
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Analytics &amp; Enablement
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Partner with analytics and business stakeholders to translate complex needs into sound data models
 </li>
 <li>
 Build self-serve data assets that reduce bottlenecks and empower non-engineering users
 </li>
 <li>
 Support ad-hoc data investigations and exploratory analysis as needed
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Team Leadership &amp; Mentorship
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Act as a technical mentor and go-to resource for junior and mid-level engineers on the team
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions
 </li>
 <li>
 Help define hiring standards and contribute to interviewing and onboarding as the team grows
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as a thought partner to leadership on data strategy and platform roadmap
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Required Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 7+ years of data engineering experience, with 2+ years operating at a senior or staff level
 </li>
 <li>
 Deep expertise with Apache Spark &mdash; performance tuning, optimization, and production troubleshooting
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands-on experience with Databricks including Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, and Databricks Workflows
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong SQL skills and experience with dimensional modeling, data vault, or medallion architecture
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience designing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines with high reliability standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Comfortable operating as a generalist &mdash; you can move between infrastructure, pipelines, and analytics layers
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Experience with Python-based orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar)
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with dbt for transformation layers
 </li>
 <li>
 Cloud platform experience (AWS), cloud-native storage and compute
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience building with small teams at a growth-stage company
 </li>
 <li>
 Background in analytics engineering or data architecture in addition to core engineering
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of data governance and security best practices
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in financial services or highly regulated environments
