Job Summary
The Critical Care PA will provide direct clinical services to critically ill patients with multi-organ or multi-system disease failure in adult surgical, and medical ICUs. The PA may cover day or night shift.
Responsibilities include:
<ul><li>Documentation of patient health histories and complete physical examinations
</li><li>Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the supervising physician
</li><li>Assess patients&rsquo; change in status and institute appropriate interventions
</li><li>Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize patients
</li><li>Provide family centered care, communicating with family regarding the changing health care needs of their family members
</li><li>Perform approved diagnostic therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based on the patient&rsquo;s clinical status
</li></ul>Experience and Education:
<ul><li>Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school
</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required.
</li><li>Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York
</li><li>ACLS/BLS
</li><li>Excellent communication skills
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care
</li><li>Prior experience as a PA in Critical Care a plus
