This position will report to the Manager of Legal Practice Support. This position will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support in an environment where collaboration and exceptional client service is emphasized.
As part of the ML LawPath&reg; program, each position is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to a specific practice group in an environment where superior client service is emphasized. Legal Practice Assistants are offered a unique learning opportunity through practical working experience and direct exposure and engagement with case teams. They are relied upon to actively support attorneys and other legal support staff in ongoing client matters. ML LawPath&reg; endeavors to help Legal Practice Assistants develop a well-rounded skill set and best practices that will foster their success as legal professionals and beyond.

Flexibility with overtime is required. A commitment of two years is expected.
Key responsibilities of this position may include:
<ul><li>Managing, organizing and maintaining case and client files;
</li><li>Coordinating and preparing information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence;
</li><li>Assisting with the drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering of factual support for internal and external requests;
</li><li>Supporting the development and management of case and practice group work product;
</li><li>Conducting research, fact investigations, and analysis for internal and external requests;
</li><li>Coordinating communication and planning across attorney teams handling multiple client matters;
</li><li>Interfacing with clients and may serve as a point of contact for clients;
</li><li>Participating in supervised client communications to exchange information;
</li><li>Performing other duties as assigned by the Manager of Legal Practice Support, workflow coordinator and/or attorneys.
</li></ul>Experience and Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required;
</li><li>3.5 GPA or higher preferred;
</li><li>One (1) year of combined internship or professional experience preferred;
</li><li>Two-year commitment expected.
</li><li>Ability to be proactive and a self-starter;
</li><li>Ability to think critically and see &ldquo;big picture&rdquo; effects;
</li><li>Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must;
</li><li>Exceptional leadership and organization skills;
</li><li>Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;

For positions in Boston, MA, the salary range for this position is: $53,200.00 - $85,150.00.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. T his position can reside in any of the following offices: New York, Philadelphia, Boston, or Washington D.C. with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility to work overtime required.
Key responsibilities include:
<ul><li>Maintains the firm&rsquo;s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions
</li><li>Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff
</li><li>Obtains filing information from court clerks and online dockets
</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.
</li></ul>Experience and qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred.
</li><li>At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience desired, preferably in a large law firm.
</li><li>An understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings at the federal, state, and county level strongly preferred.
</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.
</li><li>Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.
</li><li>Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new software programs. ProLaw or comparable docketing software a plus.
