As a Lead Technical Recruiter, you own recruiting outcomes for Morningstar's technical hiring across North America &mdash; engineering, AI/ML, data science, and product &mdash; and you set the standard for what great hiring looks like. This is a senior individual-contributor role: you run the most complex searches yourself and raise the bar for the recruiters around you through example and expertise, not direct reports.
Recruiting here runs the way Morningstar's research does &mdash; on evidence, independence, and a genuine point of view, not order-taking. Your job is to make that the daily standard for the recruiters around you.
<div></div>What You'll Do
<ul><li>Own recruiting outcomes for Morningstar's technical roles across North America &mdash; quality of hire, speed, and candidate experience.
</li><li>Define what good looks like across intake, sourcing, selection, and closing, and mentor recruiters against a capability model with hands-on feedback that grows true advisors.
</li><li>Take on the most complex and senior searches in your area, bringing evidence, judgment, and a clear point of view to every stage.
</li><li>Bring genuine technical fluency across AI/ML, engineering, and product &mdash; enough to hold credible conversations, assess real depth (not keywords), and partner with engineering, data science, and product leaders to turn technical requirements into search strategy and market maps.
</li><li>Serve as the senior TA voice for your domain with business and HR leaders, bringing market intelligence and a clear point of view.
</li><li>Make structured, fair, evidence-based selection the standard across your domain, and facilitate calibrated debriefs.
</li><li>Own pipeline health for your domain &mdash; forecasting risk, intervening early, and turning recruiting data into insight for stakeholders and TA leadership.
</li><li>Design and champion AI-assisted recruiting workflows, driving adoption while keeping their use responsible and compliant.
</li><li>Contribute to playbooks, training, and process improvements that scale beyond your own searches.
</li><li>Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.

</li></ul>Required Qualifications
<ul><li>7 or more years of recruiting experience, including time spent mentoring or coaching other recruiters
</li><li>Personal track record owning complex or senior searches with strong, measurable outcomes
</li><li>Deep understanding of technical hiring across AI/ML, engineering, and product &mdash; you can scope technical roles credibly and speak the language of the teams you hire for.
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to set standards and raise the capability of the recruiters around you &mdash; people grow under your coaching
</li><li>Ability to influence senior stakeholders with market insight and data

This position is based in our Chicago office and follows a hybrid model with a minimum of four days onsite. We intentionally prioritize in‑person collaboration, as we&rsquo;ve found it strengthens creative quality, alignment, and team momentum.

Job responsibilities:<ul><li>Utilize your expertise for all aspects of media production execution, including narrative development, pre-production, hands-on technical production, post-production, editing, media content delivery and dependable archiving of material.</li><li>Create narratives that translate long-form source content&mdash;such as research, interviews, and strategies&mdash;into compelling video narratives that deliver great storytelling to specific audiences.</li><li>A primary focus of this role is to leverage the foundation of a modular video system and execute, maintain and build upon the system.</li><li>Use industry best practices to plan and perform the execution of video content including talent direction, lighting, camera operation, sound capture, video editing, graphics creation (using existing guidelines and platforms), audio enhancement, and file encoding.</li><li>Work in partnership with designers and writers throughout the company to drive alignment to brand standards, meet a high standard of production quality, and advance smart, innovative design systems built for scale.</li><li>Collaborate with designers, writers, marketers and other multimedia teams with a one-team mindset.</li><li>Embrace an agile work environment, including the ability to embrace iterative marketing design while maintaining a cohesive and holistic view of the overall design experience.</li><li>Take sophisticated financial data and analysis and distill it into easily-understood video concepts with a strong affinity to tell stories through data visualizations in cross-channel applications.</li><li>Champion automation, explore use of AI tools, and find opportunities to build creative solutions that increase speed to market, without sacrificing creative quality.</li><li>Partner with peers and stakeholders to align on strategy, project management needs, timelines, and executional details.</li><li>Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices to ensure that content created is relevant and appealing.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>7+ years of experience in multimedia, corporate video production, social media content creation or related fields</li><li>Strong background and experience creating video for cross-channel digital marketing campaigns, from concept to execution</li><li>Digitally-savvy with proven experience around Adobe Creative Suite&mdash;Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition&mdash; and Microsoft platforms, Figma</li><li>Strong design, color and typography skills that align with brand standards</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; self-directed, comfortable working independently, and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment</li><li>Have an enthusiastic and engaging presentation style and visual communication skills to present design solutions to project teams and stakeholders</li><li>Proven fluency with AI-enabled content workflows, including experience evaluating, piloting, or operationalizing AI tools that improve content quality, efficiency, or governance</li><li>Ability to successfully receive and interpret direction from creative partners and marketers, proactively acting on feedback</li><li>Self-starter with ability to coordinate multiple large and small projects in a fast-paced environment managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities</li><li>Experience working with large global brands that demonstrate scale is a plus</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in multimedia, design, communication arts, or related field, and a minimum of five years of experience in a creative agency or in-house creative in marketing, financial services, technology, consulting or consumer products</li></ul>
