Floral DesignerFLSA Classification: Hourly Non-ExemptSummary: Design, cut, and arrange live, dried, or artificial flowers and foliage. Responsible for all flowers and plants, including pricing, dressing and daily maintenance, inventory management and flower cooler rotation maintenance.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Floral design experience of more than 1 year required.Physical Requirements:-Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls -Requires sitting, walking and standing -Requires repetitive movement -Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. -Requires communication with other via telephone, face-to-face or otherwise Tasks-Confer with clients regarding price and type of arrangement desired and the date, time, and place of delivery. -Responsible for selection of flora and foliage for arrangements, working with numerous combinations to synthesize and develop new creations. -May on occasion deliver arrangements to customers -Water plants, and cut, condition, and clean flowers and foliage for storage. -Trim material and arrange bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items using trimmers, shapers, wire, pins, floral tape, foam, and other materials. -Dress and price plants. -Daily maintenance of all plants. -Process incoming Flowers and Unpack stock as it comes into the shop, check-in inventory received to invoices for accuracy. -Inform customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers and foliage, indoor plants, and other items. -Perform general cleaning duties in the store to ensure the shop is clean and tidy including cooler rotation, changing water of fresh flowers etc. -Maintain fruit basket supplies and inventory; alerting management when supply levels are low or need replacement. -Procument of inventory as needed and directed by management. -Organize and maintain stock shelves of supplies and vases. -Decorate buildings, halls, churches, or other facilities for parties, weddings and other occasions as needed. -Use Helium tank as applicable for balloon orders. -Create and change in-store and window displays, designs and looks to enhance shop image as directed. -Conduct classes or demonstrations as needed. -Continuing Education and Industry Involvement Recommended. -Other duties as assigned by management.Job Type: Part-time/Full-Time Opportunity AvailableEmployee discount Schedule:Day shift Monday through Saturday availabilityJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Floral design: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
