We are a family medical office seeking a fun, friendly, organized, and responsible individual who is skilled at making the customer feel welcome and appreciated.YOU WILL BE:<ul><li>Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.</li><li>Checking patients in and out.</li><li>Receiving patient phone calls and performing basic triage.</li><li>Screening calls, arranging appointments, and referrals.</li><li>Preparing new records, files, scans, and maintaining records.</li><li>Updating patient demographics and insurance information in medical records.</li><li>Relaying instructions to the patient as determined by the physician.</li><li>Occasionally typing correspondence, reports, memos, and forms.</li><li>Communicating pharmacy requests to and from the physician.</li><li>Registering patients and collecting copayments.</li><li>Performing billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting cash payments, posting, and balancing daily sheets of transactions.</li><li>Performing other duties as assigned.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Previous medical receptionist experience or background in general office work.</li><li>Computer literacy with electronic medical records, Microsoft Word, and Excel.</li><li>Ability to type 60 words per minute.</li><li>Good organization skills.</li><li>Ability to keep financial records and perform mathematical tasks.</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology.</li><li>Must maintain patient confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to learn quickly from oral and written instructions.</li><li>Previous contact work with members of the public.</li><li>Spanish language skills are a plus.</li></ul>PERSONAL QUALITIES:<ul><li>Ability to communicate well with people in personal contacts and on the phone.</li><li>Can effectively act as a liaison between patients and providers.</li><li>Maintains good hygiene and professional appearance.</li><li>Able to work well under pressure.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: From $14.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Work Location: In person
