DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MA: 
1. Uses computer applications 
2. Greets patients 
3. Updates and files patient medical records 
4. Arranges for hospital admissions and laboratory services 
5. Handles correspondence 
6. Performs all administrative duties as assigned. 
Scribe: 
1. Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location. 
2. Clarify unsigned orders and chart notes with the provider. 
3. Order and &ldquo;Associate&rdquo; all orders and care plans in the chart note to complete an accurate picture of the visit. 
4. Enter patient rooms with provider and document while care is being provided. 
5. Make all spelling and correction errors throughout visit. 
6. Review with provider immediately after the patient has left to verify accuracy. Make any corrections necessary at this time. Require the provider to sign off on the chart note to close out of the note and move to the next patient. 
7. Keep scribe work areas clean and the equipment properly maintained. 
8. Protect all patient data by locking computer screen when leaving your station. 
9. Perform all other duties as assigned. 
10. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. 
11. Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly. 
12. Attends annual review and department staff meetings, as scheduled. 
13. Actively participates in performance improvement and quality improvement activities. 
14. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department. 
15.Complete yearly and monthly MVH on line training, and participate in bonus structure requirements, along with continuing education. 
16. Required to check emails and be responsible for its content daily.

 Duties And Responsibilities

 1. Follows proper procedures for Category I tasks (Standard Precautions for Infection Control).
 </li>

 Maintains general cleanliness of all areas assigned to:
 </li>
 <li>
 &ldquo;Dry&rdquo; tasks: dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, replacing paper towels, toilet paper, etc., and other duties.
 </li>
 <li>
 &ldquo;Wet&rdquo; tasks: disinfecting equipment, beds and gurneys, mopping, cleaning porcelain fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.), cleaning glass windows, doors and mirrors and other duties.
 </li>
 <li>
 Stocking clean linen supply carts and collecting dirty linen.
 </li>
 <li>
 Stocking housekeeping closets and maintaining them in a clean and orderly fashion.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains all housekeeping equipment and supplies in proper condition taking care to prevent damage. Reports any malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
 </li>
 <li>
 Is able to perform housekeeping functions in all departments as needed, regardless of primary assignment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Handles trash appropriately in appropriate bags and follows established procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains a responsible attitude toward appropriate and efficient performance as an employee of the facility as evidenced by team work and attitude.

JOB SUMMARY:
Medical Assistant: Responsible for assisting physician with patient care, clerical and clinical. Convey a positive image of the clinic. Collect, process routine testing, and returning results back to doctor. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure and prioritize. Perform CLIA waived moderate testing. Patient referrals, pulling charts, filing, cleaning/wrapping instruments, stocking rooms, reconcile labs, rooming patients taking vitals and history. Answering telephones, reviewing, and assigning faxes. Healthy connection referrals/eligibility, collection calls, prior authorizations, checking patients in/out at the front desk collecting pertinent information. Collecting and processing payments, scanning and discharging, answering phones, posting charges, some coding/billing, medical records, blood draws and giving injections.
Scribe: Primary role is to assist a physician in creating and maintaining a patient&rsquo;s medical record, though a scribe may assist the physician in other ways. Provide service excellence based on patient care and patient relationships. Functions as an effective team member with teamwork being the core approach whether doing order entry or providing patient care. Enters Provider medication and lab orders accurately and efficiently. The Scribe communicates with Providers and other medical staff, about patient&rsquo;s lab and medication orders. Effectively provides a quality level of service to both internal and external customers and carries out tasks as delegated by Providers and Supervisors. Provide/support patient care by performing tasks and duties consistent with regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Additionally, is able to perform general duties in all areas within the clinic with adequate supervision.

Experience: Prefer at least 6 months experience working directly with Physicians in a clinical setting.
Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required.
Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate effectively in English thus assuring effective communication with all hospital staff, medical staff, patients and their families by providing and maintaining open lines of communication. Bilingual is a plus. Must understand medical terminology.
Mathematical Skills: General Math skills.
Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker. Must be able to understand input from the supervisor and/or manager concerning errors and instructions. Will need a better than average attention span in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions. The ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Interpersonal: Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others. Team player and flexible.
Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines. Good customer service skills. Can recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory complexity. Basic computer knowledge along with basic knowledge of CPSI and patient scheduling. Must be able to handle/defuse conflict issues with patients, their families and staff.</div>
