The Staff Accountant at MPX, plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company&rsquo;s financial transactions and records. This position is responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation, payroll, and financial analysis reporting. The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented individual who possesses a strong understanding of accounting principles and is capable of working independently and within a team.Come join us at MPX and make an impact!Duties/Responsibilities<ul><li>Participate in all functions of accounts payable including invoice entry, payment runs, reconciliation of corporate credit card accounts and resolving vendor issues.</li><li>Process and reconcile accounts receivable including daily bank reconciliations and receipt of client payments.</li><li>Support client billing process for the accounting team.</li><li>Facilitate month end financial close.</li><li>Assist with preparation of monthly general ledger schedules.</li><li>Perform income statement and balance sheet research and analysis.</li><li>Act as backup payroll processor.</li><li>Run financial planning and analysis reports; create ad hoc reports as required.</li><li>Support Controller with miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Portland, ME 04102 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
