 ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Plant Accountant is an on-site role at the copper tube manufacturing facility in Fulton, MS, responsible for all financial and accounting functions of Fulton's copper tube operations.
 <ul>
<li>Primary duties include, but are not limited to:</li>
<li>Participate in month end close – prepare journal entries, reconcile inventory, etc</li>
<li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts.</li>
<li>Provide explanations for balance sheet and expense account fluctuations.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles at the plant level. Participate in budgets and forecasting at the plant level, as necessary.</li>
<li>Provide financial support and direction to the plant operations team.</li>
<li>Provide accounting leadership in annual physical inventories.</li>
<li>Interact with internal and external auditors.</li>
</ul>
Day to day functions include: 
Provide production numbers, spending updates, and other ad-hoc reporting to management.
 <ul>
<li>Oversight of raw material receipts into the ERP system.</li>
<li>Reconcile production numbers and perform adjustments.</li>
<li>Track scrap produced and enter transactions in the system.</li>
<li>Track production yield.</li>
<li>Manage fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and capital project reporting.</li>
<li>Process weekly payroll journal entries.</li>
<li>Accounts payable oversight.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
 <ul>
<li>BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li>
<li>3+ Years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment preferred.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.</li>
<li>Attention to detail and problem solving abilities.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Competent with spreadsheets and databases.</li>
</ul>
