Faculty Early Childhood EducationRole DescriptionMuktangan requires passionate teacher educators to sustain and grow its top pedagogical practices. What started in 2003 as a community education model within a network of 7 municipal schools in Mumbai, is now attempting to transform (through partnerships) other mainstream schools across Mumbai and other parts of the country. The teacher education team currently compromises of more than 80 practitioners, with at least 50% being members of the community who have grown as classroom teachers with the organization. Nationally recognized for its classroom innovations, Muktangan continues to offer all its employees a culture of empowerment and continuous learning. Outreach and Advocacy: (50% weightage)Involves reaching out to potential implementing partners and building their capacity to design classroom based systems that deliver a high quality engagement along with optimized learning outcomes for every student. In this role the lead faculty would be required to<ul><li>Do detailed need assessments</li><li>Collaboratively design early years learning curriculums and relevant TLMs</li><li>Facilitate early childhood education training modules in physical or virtual formats</li><li>Conduct preschool classroom observations and provide documented feedback on the M&amp;E metrics</li><li>Collaboration with various Government, Non-government and academic institutions for contextualizing the our ECCE curriculum and processes The role will involve traveling as per the location of the project partner.</li></ul>B. In-Service Teacher Education: (40% weightage)Involves continuous capacity building of &ldquo;community teachers and subject faculty&rdquo; developed in the Muktangan constructivist methodology. Our network of 7 municipal schools in Central Mumbai serves 4000+ students each year, delivering top percentile results in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board Examinations.In this role the Lead Faculty members are mainly expected to<ul><li>Design and facilitate weekly pedagogy related discussion forums between practicing teachers</li><li>Conduct professional development sessions during vacations</li><li>Provide structured mentoring to assigned teacher trainees or teachers and documenting the impacts for activities of the department</li><li>Plan, design and facilitate the implementation of the ECCE modules</li><li>Regular reflection and updating preschool processes in alignment with policies like NEP 2020 and NIPUN Bharat</li></ul>C. Organizational : (10% weightage)Involves continuously researching emerging trends in the sector and attempting to enhance the network with institutions that are aligned to the Muktangan vision to promote an engaged &amp; inclusive classroom experience. The Lead Faculty will be responsible to<ul><li>Design avenues to advocate Muktangan&rsquo;s value proposition in the context of early childhood care and development in a responsible way across different forums like seminars, paper presentations, social media etc.</li></ul>Required Competencies:<ul><li>Passionate about researching &amp; designing early years learning routines that can engage teachers &amp; children</li><li>Outstanding communications and inter-personal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders</li><li>Proven ability to develop preschool content (including use of technology) that is relevant to the learner</li><li>Working knowledge of Marathi/Hindi or both will be given preference</li><li>Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external teams as well as lead projects</li><li>Must be patient, resourceful, resilient and flexible working with a professional, demanding work schedule and environment</li><li>Must be willing to travel both within and outside Mumbai</li></ul>Educational Qualifications<ul><li>Masters in Early Childhood Education</li><li>Post-graduation in Human Development</li><li>B.ED &#61623; Minimum 2 years&rsquo; experience as an early childhood practitioner</li></ul>Remuneration:<ul><li>Salary shall be at par with industry standards.</li></ul>Interested candidates may send their CV along with a covering letter to: contact@muktanganedu.orgJob Type: Full-timePay: &#8377;35,000.00 - &#8377;42,000.00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:<ul><li>Wadala, Mumbai, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Master's (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>Making lesson Plans: 1 year (Preferred)</li><li>total work: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Language:<ul><li>English (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
