This role plays a crucial role in research and development by identifying, evaluating, and securing the best suppliers for materials, components, and services needed for innovation. Their responsibilities typically include:
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Strategic Sourcing Project Management &ndash; Lead sourcing initiatives from concept phase to prototype validation, managing timelines, deliverables, and supplier readiness.</li><li>
Supplier Development - Support onboarding and capacity-building efforts with new or existing suppliers to meet technical, quality, and compliance expectations</li><li>
Supplier Identification &amp; Evaluation &ndash; Researching and selecting vendors that meet quality, cost, and innovation requirements.</li><li>
Negotiation &amp; Contract Management &ndash; Establishing agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.</li><li>
Collaboration with R&amp;D Teams &ndash; Working closely with engineers and scientists to understand material needs and sourcing strategies.</li><li>
Market &amp; Trend Analysis &ndash; Keeping up with industry trends to identify new sourcing opportunities.</li><li>
Cost Optimization &ndash; Finding ways to reduce expenses while maintaining high-quality standards.</li><li>
Compliance &amp; Risk Management &ndash; Ensuring suppliers adhere to regulatory and ethical standards.</li></ul>
Required Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>
Education: Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.</li><li>
Experience: Prior experience in procurement, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering materials, components, and manufacturing processes.</li><li>
Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess supplier performance and optimize procurement strategies.</li></ul>
Travel<ul><li>
International travel to Munters locations (e.g., Virginia, Texas, Ireland, Italy) and supplier sites is required based on project needs.</li><li>
Willingness to travel up to 20&ndash;30% of the time, with flexibility to engage across time zones and diverse cultural environments.</li></ul>
