The Mortgage Business Intelligence &amp; Analytics team oversees all activities and functions involved with the company&rsquo;s Business Intelligence platform, giving mortgage company business leaders access to reliable, actionable data to better manage and understand the business and drive company growth.
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst to focus on the development of our Power BI reporting environment. The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for creating impactful dashboards and reports which deliver meaningful data to our business leaders to achieve organizational goals. This role will do more than compile tabular data; this role will have an opportunity to use data to tell a story, and help our team, as well as business leaders, derive meaningful insights. This role will support various facets of the company including sales, HR, and Finance.
The right candidate will have a strong background with Power BI. They will be detail oriented, with the ability to infer business needs and develop reporting solutions using data visualization best practices including leveraging Gestalt principles, Storytelling with Data, and visualization selection principals. They will proactively run data quality checks to ensure the integrity of the information being delivered. Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn, becoming a subject matter expert to coincide with technical fluency. Stays abreast of the latest Power BI features and identifies the right opportunities for implementation.
What you will be doing:
Report Development (50%)<ul><li>
Build effective and efficient reports and dashboards using best practices in data presentation and design language</li><li>
Migrate existing reporting inventory to a centralized semantic model</li><li>
Automate/streamline manual processes</li></ul>
Data Monitoring and Diagnostics (20%)<ul><li>
Monitor reports for data discrepancies and issues through use of Power BI and SQL</li><li>
Address, diagnose, and resolve reporting issues identified by business partners</li></ul>
Semantic Model Support (10%)<ul><li>
Propose changes and enhancements to established semantic models to support new reporting, or improve existing reporting</li><li>
Implement minor changes to semantic models as needed</li></ul>
Report Maintenance (10%)<ul><li>
Make minor changes and updates to existing reports as needed</li></ul>
Documentation (5%)<ul><li>
Document report development processes for business contingency purposes</li><li>
Maintain semantic model documentation, including data sources and table relationships</li><li>
Maintain an index of all active reports, including data lineage, purpose, and audience</li><li>
Maintain reporting changelog</li></ul>
Team Support &amp; Other Duties (5%)<ul><li>
Provide backfill support for ongoing team work as needed</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
3+ years&rsquo; experience in a data or business intelligence focused role</li><li>
3+ years creating BI dashboards and reports with a focus on data visualization and storytelling with a high proficiency using Power BI</li><li>
3+ years writing SQL queries for data mining</li><li>
3+ years&rsquo; experience collecting and documenting business requirements</li><li>
Mortgage experience highly preferred</li><li>
Experience with Financial reporting a plus</li></ul>

This opportunity is fully remote with the option to work from our offices in San Diego, CA, Irvine, CA, or Omaha, NE for those who prefer an office environment. You will be joining a dynamic, fully remote team which is distributed across time zones.

In this role, you will review and assess condominium project documentation to determine eligibility and compliance with agency and investor guidelines. The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge of condo project reviews, underwriting standards, and risk assessment within the mortgage industry.

Reviewing condo questionnaires, budgets, insurance, legal documents, and project approvals while partnering closely with operations, sales, and underwriting teams to ensure timely and accurate decisions.</li><li>
