We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing development team and help shape the future of one of the UK&rsquo;s fastest-growing EdTech platforms.
MyNewTerm is on a mission to digitise recruitment in education and connect schools and candidates directly. In a nutshell, we are a digital SaaS platform enabling schools and MATs to manage recruitment fully online while providing candidates with a compliant and seamless application process. In just a few years, we&rsquo;ve grown rapidly and today MyNewTerm connects hundreds of thousands of candidates with schools every year. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will join a small, collaborative team and work across our evolving technology stack to develop new features, improve system performance, and support the delivery of our product roadmap. Your work will have a real and positive impact on tens of thousands of people as they apply for their next career move. The role includes contributing to ongoing platform improvements, API integrations, UI modernisation, and scalability initiatives as the platform continues to evolve.

The role of a Full Stack Software Engineer
You&rsquo;ll be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment. You should be confident working across both front-end and back-end technologies and comfortable contributing to discussions about architecture, testing, and performance.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality software.
Main responsibilities:<ul><li>
Work with the development team to design and build software solutions.</li><li>
Develop client-side and server-side functionality.
</li><li>Build intuitive front-end interfaces with a focus on responsive design.
</li><li>Develop and maintain well-structured and efficient APIs.
</li><li>Contribute to database design and maintenance across relational and NoSQL systems.
</li><li>Write clean, testable, maintainable code.
</li><li>Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing functionality.
</li><li>Ensure software is secure, performant, and reliable.
</li><li>Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Engineering colleagues to plan, refine, and deliver high-quality software.
</li><li>Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.</li></ul><ul><li>
Follow secure coding and data protection best practices throughout development.</li><li>
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.</li></ul>
Required Skills, Qualifications &amp; Experiences:
<ul><li>A minimum of 3 years&rsquo; experience developing SaaS or web applications.
</li><li>Experience working across the full stack (front-end, back-end, APIs, databases).
</li><li>Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and related frameworks or libraries.
</li><li>Experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g. ReactJS, React Native, SASS).
</li><li>Experience with at least one back-end language or framework (e.g. PHP, Node.js, Python).
</li><li>Familiarity with databases such as Postgres and/or NoSQL stores.
</li><li>Understanding of responsive UI/UX design principles.
</li><li>Experience working with version control systems (Git).
</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills.
</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</li></ul>
Desirable qualifying experiences (the nice-to-haves!):
<ul><li>Experience working in an Agile environment.</li><li>
Exposure to mobile development or cross-platform technologies.</li><li>
Experience working in the education sector.</li><li>
A degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>
Experience contributing to architecture discussions or suggesting improvements.</li></ul>

Job location:
This role is based at our office at Wrest Park, Silsoe (MK45 4HR) with hybrid working available. A relocation support allowance may be available for an exceptional candidate relocating within the UK.
Working pattern<ul><li>
Full-time, 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday, no weekends).</li><li>
All-year-round (52 weeks).</li></ul>
