Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site Senior Accountant role located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining the company&rsquo;s financial integrity. This includes maintaining tight control of company accounts, supervising junior accounting staff, implementing financial controls to support strategic decision-making and preparation of year-end accounts closing. Role is open to Expats and Domestic applicants.Job description<ul><li>Supervise junior accountants and data entry clerks to ensure accurate posting of entries</li></ul><ul><li>Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger postings</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare accurate MIS reports for management</li></ul><ul><li>Assist in procurement and dealing with creditors</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare and monitor actuals vs. budget and provide variance explanations</li></ul><ul><li>Oversee costing of products and optimize costing processes</li></ul><ul><li>Oversee and conduct bank reconciliations for all accounts on a scheduled basis</li></ul><ul><li>Reconcile vendor, customer, and intercompany accounts</li></ul><ul><li>Perform year-end closing of books, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accordance with IFRS</li></ul><ul><li>Prepare data for tax audits, returns, and filings and coordinate with auditors</li></ul><ul><li>To maintain accounts for directors and other sources of income for reporting to TRA</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with inventory team to ensure tight control and valuation</li></ul><ul><li>Monitor and keep payables and receivables in check</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT filings, and statutory obligations (VAT, NSSF, PAYE, SDL etc)</li></ul><ul><li>Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes</li></ul><ul><li>Recommend automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy</li></ul><ul><li>Analyze &amp; Flag potential risks in liquidity, solvency, profitability and recommend preventive measures</li></ul><ul><li>Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and business planning</li></ul><ul><li>Enforce and enhance internal financial controls and accounting policies</li></ul>Hard Skills<ul><li>Financial Reporting, Accounting, and Financial Analysis skills</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of tax regulations</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in using Tally Prime</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency with Excel and Macros is a plus</li></ul><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR</li></ul><ul><li>ACCA certification (9+ papers) (other certifications accepted eg CPA, CMA)</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum experience required: 3 years</li></ul>Soft Skills&middot; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills&middot; Leadership qualities which&middot; Diligent and proactive in taking initiative without being told&middot; Attention to detail and accuracyCompany DescriptionNida &amp; Danish Trading LTD is a 30+ year old company dealing in import and exclusive distribution of world-renowned kitchen appliance, cookware brands such as Kenwood, D&eacute;Longhi, Braun, Tefal and more in Tanzania.
