The Senior Inspector will play a key role in overseeing the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical and/or mechanical systems on major infrastructure and transportation projects. This role ensures that all construction activities meet contract specifications, applicable codes, industry standards, and project requirements. The Senior Inspector works closely with contractors, engineers, project managers, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project execution and timely resolution of technical issues.</div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Responsibilities</b></h3><br>
<ul>
<li>
Monitors contractor operations and verifying conformance with project plans and specifications for electrical or mechanical components of the project</li>
<li>Serves as the on-site inspector for construction work performed by the contractor and subcontractors.</li>
<li>Interacts with the construction contractor&rsquo;s site supervision on field activities to ensure compliance with the construction contract requirements</li>
<li>Prepares daily reports, correspondence, change orders, periodic payment estimates, and quantity computations</li>
<li>Observes details of work performed by others, documenting results; obtaining photographic documentation of work performed</li>
<li>Confirms compliance with technical documents and industry-specific standards and codes</li>
<li>Reviews and downloads field data into laptop computer and transfer to company server</li>
<li>Discusses projects with project team on a daily basis</li>
<li>Makes accurate judgment-calls on a variety of construction field activities</li>
<li>Performs other like duties, as assigned</li></ul><br>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Qualifications</b></h3><br>
<ul>
<li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering required</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical inspection</li>
<li>Experience with Transportation/Infrastructure projects required</li>
<li>Experience working with public agencies (i.e., Amtrak, MTA, Metro North, LIRR)</li>
<li>OSHA 30-hour safety course is required</li>
<li>MTA Track Safety Certification is a plus</li>
<li>Experience with Project Management tools (i.e., Procore, Asite)</li></ul><div><br>

<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Good time-management skills</li>
<li>Ability to perform under pressure</li>
<li>Good skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint</li>
<li>A strong attention to detail is necessary.</li></ul><br>
