Responsibilities:
<div><b>
Responsibilities for the Forklift Operator positions include but are not limited to:</b></div><ul><li>
Must have safe forklift driving history</li><li>
Must be able to drive forklift in congested areas</li><li>
Must be able to store products over-head safely</li><li>
Responsible for properly rotating products on a daily basis</li><li>
Must have knowledge of all lock out and fork lift check sheets</li><li>
Must know all loading procedures</li><li>
Employees are responsible for following all food safety/Good Manufacturing Practices requirements</li><li>
Must wear all required PPE</li><li>
Must be trained in and understand all associated safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures</li><li>
Must be able to complete the requirements to become certified in forklift operations</li><li>
Assigned work in other areas as needed</li></ul><div>
This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.</div>
Qualifications:

Qualified candidates for the Forklift Operator position should possess the following:</b></div><ul><li>
Previous experience in the meat industry preferred but not required.</li><li>
Previous experience operating a forklift preferred; if previous forklift operator experience, must have safe forklift operation history</li><li>
Must be available to work 12 hour shifts</li></ul><div>
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.</div><div></div><div><br>

National Beef, a national leader in the beef industry, is looking for college students ready to explore a career in Beef Production to join our family for the summer of 2026 as Beef Operations Intern. Our internship program will allow you to gain experience in first-hand process management, critical thinking skills, operational planning for customer fulfillment needs, and formulation of ground beef in a state-of-the-art facility. You will be introduced to our company culture and work practices and learn about department processing practices from start to finish. We will place qualified interns in three locations: Liberal, Kansas; Dodge City, Kansas; and Tama, Iowa.</div><div></div><div><br>
This is a paid internship. Housing allowance is included where required.</div><div></div><div><br>

Program length: 10-12 weeks</div>
Responsibilities:

Program highlights for the Beef Production Summer Internship include but are not limited to:</b></div><div></div><div><br>
You will be working for an industry leader in beef processing!</div><div></div><div><br>
National Beef&rsquo;s production facilities are high-speed operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and yields. You will learn how they are designed to execute complex processes required to support the comprehensive product and program needs of National Beef&rsquo;s diverse customers.</div><div></div><div><br>
You will spend time on the production floor in harvest and fabrication and gain experience while working on rewarding projects to solve real business needs.</div><div></div><div><br>
This experience will provide a broad introduction to the National Beef Packing Production Operations process. You will work collaboratively with the Operations Team and have networking opportunities with senior leadership in the facility.</div><div></div><div><br>
As a Beef Production Operations Intern, you will be responsible for preparing detailed reports for the senior management team and key department heads, summarizing key insights and experiences during the internship, including a program-end presentation to this same leadership group, demonstrating what you have learned.</div>
Qualifications:

Qualified Candidates for the Beef Production Summer Internship position should possess the following:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing on one of the following fields of study:</div><ul><li><div>
Animal Science</div></li><li><div>
Ag Business</div></li><li><div>
Microbiology/Chemistry</div></li><li><div>
Industrial Engineering</div></li><li><div>
Other Related Fields may be considered</div></li></ul></li><li><div>
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in core curriculum classes</div></li><li><div>
Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement</div></li><li><div>
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills</div></li><li><div>
Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work</div></li><li><div>
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products</div></li><li><div>
Availability to work 40+ hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internship</div></li></ul><div>
