Main StLouisville, KY 40202The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR or SAR) is a male lineage society with national and international membership. Founded in 1889 and headquartered on Museum Row in Louisville, Kentucky, SAR is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and educating future generations.Position Summary: The Communications Associate supports the Marketing and Public Relations Manager in promoting the mission, programs, and initiatives of SAR. This role involves assisting with content creation, social media, member communications, and public outreach efforts, while ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about contributing to a dynamic team environment.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist with drafting, editing, and scheduling content for social media channels, newsletters, and press releases.</li><li>Support the creation and distribution of marketing materials for SAR programs, initiatives, and events.</li><li>Help maintain website content and update online resources using WordPress.</li><li>Coordinate and track communications efforts across departments, committees, and chapters.</li><li>Assist with media requests, public relations campaigns, and member engagement initiatives.</li><li>Provide administrative support for events, outreach programs, and internal communications.</li><li>Collaborate with the Marketing and PR Manager on special projects and initiatives as assigned.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.</li><li>Comfortable with social media platforms and digital communication tools.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</li><li>Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently as needed.</li><li>Experience with MailChimp, WordPress, and Adobe Suite a plus.</li></ul>Benefits: Employees are eligible to participate in SAR-sponsored benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, LTD and life insurance, vacation and personal time off, holiday pay, and a company-matched retirement plan.How to Apply: Please submit a resume and cover letter to mkrebs@sar.org and CC dhight@sar.org.Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid parental leave</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>communications/marketing: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
