Position Summary
The Waste Treatment Systems Engineer will provide technical and management support for Navarro&rsquo;s waste contract at Y-12. This position will support engineering activities associated with waste treatment operations, equipment performance, process reliability, and technical problem resolution in a chemical or nuclear industry environment. The engineer will work with project, operations, maintenance, and client personnel to help ensure treatment processes and supporting systems are managed safely, effectively with standard code and contract requirements.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Provide engineering support for waste treatment operations and related technical activities at Y-12.</li><li>
Support the maintenance, installation, repair, and performance evaluation of equipment used in treatment processes.</li><li>
Assist with managing treatment processes in a chemical or nuclear industry environment, including coordination with operations and maintenance personnel.</li><li>
Evaluate technical issues, develop practical recommendations, and support implementation of corrective actions related to equipment, systems, and process performance.</li><li>
Provide technical and management support to project leadership, including coordination of engineering priorities, field support needs, and contract deliverables.</li><li>
Prepare, review, and support technical documentation, engineering evaluations, work planning inputs, and process-related reports as needed.</li><li>
Promote a strong safety culture by supporting work activities that align with quality, safety, environmental, and security requirements.</li><li>
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, maintenance, project management, and client representatives.</li></ul> 

Requirements 
Requirements<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>
Minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical and management support in a chemical or nuclear industry.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to support engineered systems, equipment-related technical issues, and treatment process activities in a regulated operating environment.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, project management, and client personnel.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and support technical documentation.</li><li>
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment and managing treatment processes in a chemical or nuclear industry.</li><li>
Graduation from an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).</li><li>
Experience supporting waste treatment, waste management, nuclear facility operations, chemical processing, or related industrial systems.</li></ul>

We are seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of technology projects within a complex, matrixed program environment. This role operates under the guidance of the Program Manager and serves as the primary coordination point between functional teams, program leadership, and vendors to ensure project outcomes are achieved within scope, schedule, and budget.
This is a hands-on delivery role suited for a motivated project management professional who brings strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively across business and IT teams. We are looking for a solid project manager who can ramp up quickly and deliver results.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects of low-to-moderate complexity through the full project lifecycle &mdash; initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.</li><li>

Clear, professional communication skills &mdash; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and engage effectively with functional leads, business owners, and program leadership.</li></ul>
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Manage and ensure the timely completion of multi-discipline IT projects of low to moderate complexity and scope.</li><li>
Provide leadership throughout the full project lifecycle using appropriate project management methodologies and tools.</li><li>
Oversee project teams in planning, tracking, and execution; facilitate transfer of operations and maintenance activities at project completion.</li><li>
Develop and maintain project charters, project management plans (PMPs), schedules, and other technical documentation to a professional standard.</li><li>
Coordinate activities of technical personnel and collaborate with IT staff on delivery of specific products and projects.</li><li>
Identify, document, and manage project-level risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate cross-workstream or program-level impacts as needed.</li><li>
Partner with customers to define expectations, solve problems, and establish mutual responsibilities.</li><li>
Coordinate with business owners, functional SMEs, and technical teams to support readiness and adoption.</li><li>
Translate project management concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences both within and outside of IT.</li></ul> 

Requirements 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Excellent communication and leadership skills with demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.</li><li>
Working knowledge of IT environments and software development methodologies, tools, and processes.</li><li>
Ability to produce professional project charters, project plans, and other technical and project documents.</li><li>
Ability to partner with customers to solve problems while defining expectations and mutual responsibilities.</li><li>
Ability to translate project management terminology for both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.</li><li>
Proficiency with standard project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).</li></ul>
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE<ul><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.</li><li>
Experience: 4+ years of project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to IT project delivery.</li><li>
Certification: PMP, Scrum Master Certification (CSM), SAFe, or equivalent Agile credential.</li></ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Experience leading diverse development teams across different organizational contexts (varying team sizes, co-located vs. distributed, Agile vs. Waterfall).</li><li>
Experience working in a hybrid methodology environment (Agile and Waterfall combined).</li><li>
Experience in technical writing, editing, and preparing and delivering formal and informal presentations.</li><li>
Familiarity with project management in government, federal agency, or regulated industry environments.</li><li>
DOE &quot;Q&quot; security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is a plus but not required.</li></ul>
