The Strategic Content Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic, data-driven content programs in partnership with association clients. This role combines editorial expertise, client relationship management, and digital-first thinking to craft multi-channel content strategies that engage audiences, deliver measurable results, and drive revenue.</div><div><br>
The Strategic Content Manager will serve as a key advisor to clients, guiding content strategy and providing insights for both current and future projects and will be responsible for overseeing the fulfillment of clients&rsquo; print and digital communication products. The role requires a blend of creativity, organization, and strategic thinking, with a focus on enhancing the client&rsquo;s content portfolio and driving engagement and revenue.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li><b>Consultative Client Relationship</b></li><li><ul><li>
Serve as the primary editorial point of contact for association clients, maintaining a strong, collaborative relationship through regular meetings and strategic touchpoints.</li><li>
Provide expert advice on content strategy, industry trends, and innovative solutions to meet clients' evolving needs.</li><li>
Contribute to client and company revenue generation by aligning content strategy with broader sales and marketing goals.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Content Strategy &amp; Execution</b></li><li><ul><li>
Lead the creation of overarching content strategies for multiple products, ensuring alignment with client goals, target audiences, and digital-first best practices.</li><li>
Audit account content products, advise and assist clients with reader surveys, and provide analysis and insights to inform strategy and identify new content opportunities.</li><li>
Use data analysis and digital insights to drive content decisions and optimize the user experience in order to increase member recruitment, engagement, and retention and to increase revenue.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Editorial Planning &amp; Oversight</b></li><li><ul><li>
Oversee the editorial calendar and integrated planning for all client projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution.</li><li>
Schedule projects, communicate deadlines to clients and freelancers, and keep projects on schedule by working closely with internal teams, freelancers, and clients.</li><li>
Manage the assignment, coordination, and oversight of content production, from concept to final delivery.</li><li>
Provide final signoff on editorial packages, ensuring content aligns with client goals and standards.</li><li>
Aggregate and edit newsletter content, advise clients on best practices for newsletter engagement, and coordinate newsletter redesigns as needed.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Design Leadership &amp; Content Repurposing</b></li><li><ul><li>
Lead the creative direction for content design across projects, working with design teams to ensure the visual execution aligns with strategic objectives.</li><li>
Repurpose content for multiple formats, optimizing for digital platforms first and then leveraging for print or other mediums.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Industry Research &amp; Continuous Improvement</b></li><li><ul><li>
Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and track trends to make strategic recommendations for improving content and overall client strategy.</li><li>
Build relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content is informed, relevant, and thought-leading within the industry.</li></ul></li><li><b>
Cost &amp; Resource Management</b></li><li><ul><li>
Monitor editorial and production costs for each project, identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.</li><li>
Ensure the acquisition and proper licensing of images.</li></ul></li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>3+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial management, or a related client-facing role.</li><li>
Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Media Studies).</li><li>
Proven ability to develop and execute integrated content strategies based on client needs and company goals.</li><li>
Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>
Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables and to hold clients, freelancers, and outsource vendors accountable for agreed-upon deadlines and deliverables.</li><li>
Proficient in content sourcing/aggregation, copyediting, and proofreading, with excellent attention to detail.</li><li>
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite.</li><li>
Familiarity with analytics tools and a data-driven approach to measuring content performance.</li><li>
Familiarity with editorial AI tools (e.g., content repurposing, outlining, editing, SEO optimization).</li><li>
Experience with associations or B2B publishing preferred.</li></ul><div><i>
