<div>NDI is looking to add an a procurement specialist to our Thorofare, NJ team to support in locating key suppliers- such as machine shops and fabrication shops- negotiating the company&rsquo;s purchasing agreements and making sure materials and products meet the company&rsquo;s specification and timelines.
 
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in procurement in the DOD sector and be a strong communicator who is organized and timely. 
 
Role and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings. Possess strong project management skills, with the ability to define milestones and adhere to deadlines.</li><li>
Self-manage workload, collaborate with vendors, and project leads to support customer project requirements.</li><li>
 Evaluate supplier performance and identify contract changes, root causes of issues, and transition plans in collaboration with the Program Managers.
</li><li>Foster supplier competition, manage procurement risks, and pursue cost-saving opportunities</li><li>
Develop and maintain relationships with qualified and reputable suppliers and expand the supplier base through market research.</li><li>
Receive, analyze, and process material and service requests.
</li><li>Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions</li><li>
Monitor and manage order fulfillment to meet production schedules and inventory requirements.
</li><li>Track and complete procurement transactions, including status reporting, documentation accuracy, and resolution of non-conformances.
</li><li>Assist with documentation, reporting, and coordination of corrective and preventive actions.</li><li>
 Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned in support of operations and procurement objectives.</li><li>
Responsible for collecting and verifying welder documentation in accordance with contract requirements</li></ul> 

Requirements<ul><li>
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to determine the product needs and to create constructive relationships with vendors.</li><li>
Project management: will be managing multiple projects at one time. The ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals is necessary for managing these projects.</li><li>
Negotiation: will be in charge of negotiating vendor contracts, must understand price points and be able to negotiate effectively.</li><li>
Problem solving: must have strong problem-solving skills. For example, they may need to solve the problem of a product or service that does not meet the quality standards of the company.</li><li>
Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
</li><li>This position is not remote and work in Thorofare, NJ office is required
</li><li>Travel as needed &ndash; 1-2 days of travel 2x a month &ndash; Travel expenses are reimbursed
</li><li>3-5 of years of procurement experience required &ndash; experience with DoD preferred but not required</li><li>
Proficiency in CAD required, Inventor preferred</li><li>
Must be able to lift 40lbs and be able to inspect parts
</li><li>Familiarity with DoD Contracts a plus
</li><li>Welding background preferred but not required
