<div>Job Summary:
Conduct tax and regulatory reviews on behalf of clients. Perform review functions to detect, correct, and document client tax/fee revenue deficiencies. Focus areas included but are not limited to; sales &amp; use tax, franchise fees, business licenses, hotel/motel taxes, utility user taxes, and various other state and local taxes or assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Performs examination of taxpayer records for compliance under direction of supervisor and management</li><li>
Continually increase understanding of tax laws</li><li>
Research for exam leads and scheduling appointments</li><li>
Prepares for exams by reviewing tax returns, prior audit reports and other available data preliminary to the audit</li><li>
Meet with taxpayers to discuss exam procedures, answers questions, and obtain necessary information and records</li><li>
Examines and verifies business and financial records</li><li>
Prepares papers supporting all adjustments, computes assessments</li><li>
Reviews and discusses findings with taxpayer and/or representative to illustrate how tax laws and rulings apply to taxpayer's specific operations and support exam results</li><li>
Answers taxpayer inquiries; may participate in hearings of disputed cases; performs related duties as required</li><li>
Conduct closing conferences with taxpayers and/or taxpayers&rsquo; representatives; explaining applicable law and facts supporting changes in tax liabilities and attempts to secure agreement to findings in reports</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned</li><li>
Work as required to complete the tasks</li><li>
Travel as required</li></ul>
Education and Experience:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting is preferred (Required for Alabama tax assignments)</li><li>
State and local tax knowledge or experience is preferred</li><li>
If assigned to Alabama (AL) tax:<ul><li>
If not already Certified Revenue Examiner (CRE) certified, auditors are required to complete the necessary training to obtain the CRE designation within 2 years after employment and are required to maintain this certification through annual continuing education.</li></ul></li><li>
If assigned to Louisiana (LA) tax:<ul><li>
Certified Tax Examiner (CTE) certification is preferred within 2 years of employment</li><li>
Minimum of 18 credit hours in accounting is required</li></ul></li><li>
CPA certification is preferred<ul><li>
Note: If CPA is held, CRE and CTE certifications are not required</li></ul></li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>
Professional background including experience with corporate accounting and finance preferred.</li><li>
Experience with state or local revenue department, compliance audits, audit defense preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills.</li><li>
Self-starter, with the ability to organize, plan and direct.</li><li>
Professional, customer service oriented, tactful, dependable, and flexible.</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels of the Company.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of Accounting Systems and Microsoft office.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability.</li><li>
Ability to use skill set, experience, and training to come to a decision under uncertainty.</li><li>
Exhibit awareness when performing work to evaluate and identify areas where issues might arise.</li><li>
Ability to understand limitations taxpayers and clients are facing related to ability to effectively provide information/records and aptitude to diplomatically overcome these limitations.</li></ul>

Tax Examiner (On-Site)

<div>Job Summary:
The Desktop Support Engineer I - is an IT professional who helps users resolve issues with computer hardware, software, or infrastructure. They respond to users inquires (phone, chat, or self-service) assess problems and issues with IT equipment and applications and help resolve issues with known solutions (documentation and Knowledgebase). They also work closely with other IT department personnel to aid on tasks and issues that are outside the scope of their knowledge or expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities:<div><ul><li>
Field Incoming EUC request from end users by either phone, self-service, or other standard communication channels; thoroughly documenting customer needs / issues within the service tracking tool.</li><li>
Resolve Incidents and Requests based on known solutions using various support and remote login tools; ability to assimilate problems with solutions and communicate or implement to resolve issues or fulfill requests.</li><li>
Utilize, create and maintain Knowledge Base articles used in troubleshooting, resolving and routing incident and requests.</li><li>
Partner with other IT functions to assist in support of customers; routing incident/request tickets, working directly with other staff to facilitate service and investigate issues.</li><li>
Creating, maintaining and retire user access and login accounts and application access.</li><li>
Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams</li><li>
Act as a mentor to junior members of the team</li><li>
Able to act independently as needed</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul></div> 
Education and Experience:<div><ul><li>
HS Diploma</li><li>
1-2 year customer service experience</li><li>
1-2 years&rsquo; experience supporting an IT call center</li><li>
Working knowledge of Active Directory</li><li>
Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols</li></ul></div>
