Medical Behavioral Hospital of Clear Lake, Texas</b> a member of the NeuroPsychiatric Hospital family, is looking for a <b>Nursing Supervisor (RN)</b> to serve our patients and hospital leadership team. The Nursing Supervisor (RN), under the direction fo the DON, will help plan, direct, and evaluate total patient care and to assume management responsibilities for the nursing department. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.</li><li>
Assesses the patient&rsquo;s condition based upon observation and/or interview of patient, physician&rsquo;s diagnosis, laboratory findings and other pertinent information.
</li><li>Uses professional judgement to prepare nursing care plans consistent with assessment of patient&rsquo;s condition and physician&rsquo;s treatment plans.
</li><li>Directs non-professional personnel in implementing nursing care plans, and provides guidance and demonstrates appropriate methods, as necessary, to correct deviations from established standards. Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees and the needs of the patients.
</li><li>Evaluates patient&rsquo;s response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, and/or contacts physician&rsquo;s as circumstances require.
</li><li>Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, and initiating and maintaining intravenous fluids according to hospital policy and procedures. Understands the pharmacology and recognizes the side effects of medications administered. Performs lab draws and report&rsquo;s findings to appropriate personnel.</li><li>
Responsible to perform Point of Care testing as assigned and trained, maintain competency for testing and quality control procedures. Reports lab results and documents in the patient chart. Collects blood samples for laboratory testing according to lab procedures.</li><li>
Performs both complex and routine treatments as prescribed by physicians or as warranted by patient&rsquo;s condition.</li><li>
Makes regular rounds of assigned patients independently and with physicians. Observes and evaluates patient&rsquo;s symptoms, progress and reactions to treatments and mediations. Takes corrective actions as indicated.
</li><li>Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution. Communicates with other hospital departments, as necessary, in order to resolve operational problems and make the most effective use of hospital</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN) preferred</li><li>
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of <b>Texas.</b></li><li>
One year of nursing experience required.
</li><li>Prefer experience in the nursing education and/or psychiatric and acute care setting, but is not required.</li></ul></div>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Filing documents as needed.</li><li>
Initial Precertification with payors.</li><li>
Concurrent Clinical review with payors.</li><li>
Document in the electronic system daily in real time.</li><li>
Admission audit.</li><li>
Ensures that CON&rsquo;s/RON&rsquo;s and CMS certifications are completed by provider.
</li><li>Consistently demonstrates professionalism with all internal and external customers as evidenced by positive customer and peer Communicates effectively with all staff and patients as evidenced by the establishment and maintenance of productive working relationships.</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books; journals and other literature and attending related seminars or conferences.</li><li>
Maintains a professional approach with Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, electronic or oral disclosures.</li><li>
Cooperates and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, and other departments.</li><li>
Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws, as well as hospital polices that apply.</li><li>
Complies with hospital expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct.</li><li>
Complies with federal and hospital requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient information.</li><li>
Reconsiderations, assists with appeals as needed, arrange peer to peer level reviews, and report the outcomes to the VP of Care Management and Team.</li><li>
Provides education to nursing staff. ;eadership team, and providers regarding documentation.</li><li>
Actively works with the business office regarding resolution of appeals/denials and retrospective reviews.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<p>
Education: Bachelor's in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or Psychology required. Master's degree preferred.</p><p>
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of utilization review experience in a hospital setting required. Minimum of 2 years of case management experience, including discharge planning in a hospital setting required.</p><div>
Licensure: Certified Case Manager (CCM) or Accredited Case Manager (ACM) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Handle with Care (HWC) obtained during orientation, if applicable.</div><div>
Skills: Must have strong knowledge of medications and demonstrate exceptional time management, data entry, and communication skills. Must be detail oriented.#INDEEDLOW</div></div>
