The Life Safety Service Technician is a UNION position and offers FREE healthcare benefits and generous PTO!

The primary role of a Life Safety Service Technician is to assist the Service Manager with the inspecting testing and maintenance of low voltage systems within a facility. Low voltage systems include fire alarm, video surveillance, door access, AV, audio, paging, intercom, nurse call and network. In this supportive role, technicians are provided the opportunity to gain field experience in the systems integration industry and grow within the company. This individual will bridge the gap between people and technology.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
<ul>
<li>Service, Inspecting, testing, and maintaining of low voltage systems</li>
</ul><ul><li>Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry/components and records effects on unit performance</li>
</ul><ul><li>Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and dependability by following instructions and being an active listener</li>
</ul><ul><li>Adapts well to changing circumstances or conditions in the field</li>
</ul><ul><li>Pursues career development opportunities such as training and certification courses</li>
</ul><ul><li>Always maintains a professional attitude and appearance</li>
</ul><ul><li>Keeps a clean and organized work environment</li>
</ul><ul><li>Adheres to all NEW ERA policies in regard to dress code, safety, attendance, etc.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Other duties may occur at your managers discretion</li>
</ul><ul><li>Some Engineering for Nurse Call</li>
</ul>
 COMPETENCY:
<ul>
<li>Prior Fire Alarm service experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>Preferred CCTV, Access Control/ security experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>Obtain Fire Alarm NICET certification</li>
</ul><ul><li>Valid driver's license</li>
</ul><ul><li>Reliable transportation</li>
</ul><ul><li>Familiarity with basic hand tools</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to stoop, balance, stand, walk, sit and climb and/or work on a ladder</li></ul> 


REQUIRED EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE: Associate degree (or minimum 2 years of experience) in Fire Alarm Testing and Inspections 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
<ul>
<li>Ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to lift and/or move equipment at least 60 pounds on a repetitive basis.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Must be able to lift equipment and construction supplies from floor height to overhead while loading/unloading trucks or preparing equipment for installations, service calls, and events.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to climb and work (stack, adjust, and repair) at heights in excess of 25' before/during installations and job sites.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Reaching, grasping and carrying activities are also required.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Must have a clean driving record and valid / current driver's license.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to drive a company van to client sites.</li>
</ul>
 EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 am &ndash; 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
