Position Summary: 
Under the leadership of the Trio Director, the Upward Bound Counselor provides academic, career, and educational counseling, as well as assistance with completing the college admissions and financial aid process. The counselor also provides motivational support and advocates for program participants. Other services the UB Counselor coordinates include academic instruction, mentoring, and tutoring. 
 
The Upward Bound Counselor is responsible for effectively implementing and achieving all goals, objectives, and standards associated with the Upward Bound Program as outlined by the US Department of Education. 
 
During the academic year, there are 26 to 28 sessions on Saturdays that run from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm. There is also an afterschool program that runs Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm as well as evening orientations and activities that are typically scheduled from 6 pm until 8:00 pm. A six-week summer program is conducted, with up to five of those weeks being residential. During the summer program, staff are expected to be available on campus, for overnight supervision of students for the duration of the residential program and should expect to work longer hours during the day. Saturday and off-hour work is required. 
 
Essential Functions: 
<ul><li>Screen middle (8th graders) and high school students to determine eligibility.</li><li>Collect, analyze, and maintain student data, including report cards, test scores, and Personal Educational Plans to improve student service delivery and increase student outcomes.</li><li>Develop and maintain a file on each eligible participant for use in education and career planning.</li><li>Supervise and conduct group counseling, individual counseling, and personal development activities.</li><li>Organize and conduct career workshops, seminars, and other educational activities.</li><li>Conduct entrance and exit interviews of program participants.</li><li>Assist the program director with program planning and evaluation, reviewing applications for college admission, and financial aid, assessing education needs, and developing goals of project participants.</li><li>Must be willing to make off-site visits to target schools regularly.</li></ul> 

Additional Functions: 
<ul><li>Assist in developing program proposals and preparing reports.</li><li>Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.</li></ul> 

Prerequisite Qualifications: 
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in counseling, Student Personnel Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related fields.</li><li>Two or more years of counseling experience, academic advising, or teaching experience at the middle school, high school, or post-secondary level.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated skills in individual and group counseling techniques.</li><li>Experience in conducting testing and training activities.</li><li>Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Suite and the Google Suite.</li><li>Work on Saturdays and during off-hours is required.</li><li>Must be able to provide overnight supervision on campus for the duration of the residential summer program (overnight duties will be split between appropriate staff).</li><li>Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.</li><li>At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.</li></ul> 

Preferred Qualifications: 
<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in counseling, Student Personnel Services,</li><li>Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.</li><li>Experience working with the underserved and low-income, first-generation student population. Knowledge of TRiO programs is helpful.</li></ul>

Salary Information: 
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05-$102,796.62 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.

Position Summary: 
We are seeking a highly motivated Hourly Data Analyst (MS level) in Bioinformatics to support computational analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data in a multidisciplinary biomedical research environment. The successful candidate will assist with the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput sequencing datasets and collaborate with experimental and computational researchers. 
 
Essential Functions: 
<ul><li>Perform bioinformatics analysis of NGS datasets, including RNA-seq, RIP-seq, and related sequencing assays.</li><li>Process raw sequencing data, including quality control, alignment, quantification, and downstream analysis.</li><li>Develop and maintain analysis pipelines using standard bioinformatics tools and scripting languages.</li><li>Conduct statistical analysis and visualization of genomic data.</li><li>Assist in interpreting results and preparing figures, reports, and documentation for publications and presentations.</li><li>Work closely with laboratory researchers to integrate computational analysis with experimental design.</li></ul> 

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Position Summary: 
The Center for Student Entrepreneurship (CSE) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is seeking specialists to serve as Global Entrepreneurs in Residence (GEIRs) to mentor students in specific STEM fields. 
 
This is a part-time, in-person position (8 hours/week) located at NJIT&rsquo;s Newark campus at the CSE. 
 
Essential Functions: 
<ul><li>Maintain and update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and reporting systems used to track NJIT student venture progress, CSE program performance, and entrepreneurial ecosystem metrics.</li><li>Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools utilized by NJIT student founders, CSE staff, and program stakeholders to monitor startup activity and outcomes.</li><li>Design and create business intelligence tools and systems including databases, spreadsheets, and data outputs to support NJIT's CSE student entrepreneurship programming.</li><li>Conduct and coordinate tests to ensure that business outputs and venture analytics are consistent with CSE program goals, grant reporting requirements, and defined stakeholder needs.</li><li>Synthesize current business intelligence data and emerging startup trends to support data-driven recommendations for NJIT student ventures, CSE initiatives, and entrepreneurial ecosystem development.</li><li>Maintain a library of reusable analytical models, reporting templates, and knowledge assets to support consistent and scalable business intelligence practices across NJIT's Center for Student Entrepreneurship.</li><li>Support NJIT student entrepreneurs through hands-on mentorship, pitch preparation, customer discovery, and grant writing assistance, while actively participating in and helping coordinate CSE events including pitch competitions, demo days, and speaker series to advance early-stage ventures and innovation projects.</li><li>Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive student entrepreneurial community across campus. Actively promote CSE services to students and the broader NJIT community through events and visibility efforts.</li></ul>
