This role manages payroll updates, employee record maintenance, reimbursements, garnishments, deductions, attendance tracking, and employment verifications while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The position also processes accounts payable and receivable, prepares government invoices, performs reconciliations, maintains accounting entries, and supports periodic financial reporting. Additionally, the Payroll and Accounting Specialist maintains organized financial records, generates reports, provides administrative support, and utilizes financial systems to ensure efficient and compliant operations.​Pay &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Starting Pay $25/Hour</li><li>Health and Welfare benefit $5.55/hour. (H&amp;W is used to pay for medical premiums)</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>Paid Sick Leave (1 hour per every 30 hours worked)</li><li>Vacation after 1 year of employment</li><li>401K plan after eligibility is met</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm and as needed.</li></ul>Duties/Responsibilities<ul><li>Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in PayNorthwest payroll system.</li><li>Collects, review and issue reimbursement requests for employee authorized work-related expenses.</li><li>Provide and collects documentation pertaining to payroll and accounting.</li><li>Assist payroll, the processing, submitting and documenting of each payroll with accuracy and in a timely manner.</li><li>Updates employee records, new hires, terminations, status changes, wage information and department transfers.</li><li>Track and process request forms and employee attendance.</li><li>Assists with the management of insurance plans and 401k contributions.</li><li>Process garnishments, employee deductions, employment verifications, draws and direct deposits.</li><li>Submit and runs various reports as well as recurring reports.</li><li>Assist with updating and adjusting for any changes in policies and procedures.</li><li>Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, data entry, generating reports and maintaining file systems.</li><li>Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accurately and on schedule</li><li>Perform monthly reconciliations and maintain accounting entries under direction of supervisor</li><li>Submit government invoices and track payment status under direction of supervisor</li><li>Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as assigned.</li><li>Maintain organized financial records and documentation in compliance with Ability One and Audit requirements.</li><li>Assist with data entry and report generation in QuickBooks Online Advanced, Ramp, UKG and other financial systems as assigned.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>​​Required Skills/Abilities<ul><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities</li><li>Demonstrated time management skills and ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team</li><li>Ability to be punctual, dependable, ethical, and self-motivated</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software</li><li>Ability to learn and use payroll system</li><li>Must be able to pass a background check</li><li>Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record</li></ul>Education and Experience<ul><li>2+ years bookkeeping experience required</li><li>Payroll processing experience highly preferred</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks Online accounting software required</li><li>Experience with UKG or similar payroll platform preferred</li><li>Associate degree or certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping preferred</li><li>Government contractor or nonprofit experience preferred</li><li>High attention to detail and strong organizational skills required</li></ul>​Physical Requirements and Essential Functions<ul><li>This position requires the ability to bend or stoop as necessary, occasionally lift files, office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.</li><li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li></ul>​*Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
