The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The Certified Medical Assistant provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The Certified Medical Assistant is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations and ensuring completion of all duties vital to business operations. The Certified Medical Assistant is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, and other visitors to the office. The Certified Medical Assistant is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.</p><div><p><b>
Required Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li>
High School degree or equivalent</li><li>
CMA or RMA certification</li><li>
Phlebotomy Certification or successful completion of phlebotomy checklist within 6 months of hire</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of current auto insurance</li></ul><p><b>
Preferred Education and Experience</b></p><ul><li>
1+ years&rsquo; experience in an outpatient medical office setting</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s or Associate&rsquo;s degree</li></ul><p><b>

Provide patient care by giving clear direction to the patient, address patient concerns about the session</li><li>
Ensure completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle (i.e., verification/clarification of orders, waivers for non-covered services, encounter form)</li><li>
Provide instructions to patient under direction of the provider</li><li>
Ensure complete and accurate information in the patient chart</li><li>
Clean and disinfect exam rooms</li><li>
Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA requirements</li><li>
Assist with completion of patient requests</li><li>
Manage referral process, outpatient test scheduling and precertification</li><li>
Manage medication prior-authorizations</li><li>
Interact with billing office as needed to resolve patient issues</li><li>
Provide patient with good customer service</li><li>
Document in chart and EHR the appropriate patient history and prepare patient for session</li><li>
Conduct urine drug screens and phlebotomy for blood specimen collection as required</li><li>
Complete prior authorizations and obtain physical and lab exams as required</li><li>
Perform medical Point of Care testing following established policy and procedures</li><li>
Administer oral and injectable medications per orders from the physician and mid-level providers following established medication administration policy and procedures</li></ul></div><p>
