Patient Care Technician - Pulmonary Med SDU - Part Time - Nights
Accurately measure and record patient vital signs including body temperature, pulse respiration, and blood pressure. Report abnormal findings, put patients at ease and be the eyes and ears of our award-winning nursing team. Collaborate with a team of nurses to earn your reputation every day and Put Patients First.
Required Criteria<ul><li>
Qualified candidates must have experience as a Nurse's Aide or an equivalent role.</li><li>
A high school diploma is required, along with completion of an approved phlebotomy program and a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.</li><li>

Patient Care Technicians - Hudson Valley - 4 South (Med/Surg) - Full Time - Days

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.
This is a full time day shift position working 6:30a-7:30p with rotating weekends and holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
Preferred Criteria<ul><li>
Acute or Long Term Care experience/surgical tech preferred</li></ul>
Required Criteria<ul><li>
High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience</li><li>
Current BLS required from American Heart Association</li><li>
Previous Nurse&rsquo;s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aide training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing and completed at least one clinical practicum</li></ul>

 Essential Job Duties
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Provides approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA&rsquo;s during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists the anesthesiologists/ CRNA&rsquo;s with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department.
 </li>
 <li>
 Applies principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
 </li>
 <li>
 Sets up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique.
 </li>
 <li>
 Sets up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE&rsquo;s, fiber optic scopes and LMA&rsquo;s.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 This is a per diem position. The coverage needed is during Monday-Friday and the hours are 2:00pm-10:00pm. Located at NYP/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

 Minimum one year of anesthesia tech experience
 </li>

 ASATT Certification
