Job Title: IT ManagerAbout UsNewsom Eye and Laser is a large, multi-location medical practice serving hundreds of patients annually. We rely on robust, secure, and cost-effective technology to deliver exceptional patient care, streamline operations, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.).Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our technology infrastructure, ensuring high and cost efficiency. This hands-on role combines strategic oversight with practical execution, including website development/maintenance and basic A/V production. The ideal candidate is a fiscally responsible leader who can balance innovation with budget constraints in a healthcare environment.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Infrastructure Leadership</li><li>Oversee the entire IT ecosystem for a large medical practice (EHR/EMR systems, PACS, telemedicine platforms, servers, networking, cloud services, endpoints).</li><li>Ensure 99.9%+ uptime, ironclad cybersecurity, and full HIPAA compliance.</li><li>Manage vendor contracts, hardware/software lifecycles, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.</li><li>Fiscal Responsibility &amp; Budget Management</li><li>Develop and maintain annual IT budgets with detailed ROI justification for all expenditures.</li><li>Negotiate vendor contracts to reduce costs without compromising quality or security.</li><li>Implement cost-saving measures (e.g., cloud optimization, open-source tools where appropriate, hardware refreshes on extended cycles).</li><li>Website Creation &amp; Maintenance</li><li>Lead redesigns, updates, and ongoing maintenance of the practice&rsquo;s public-facing website and patient portal.</li><li>Ensure WCAG 2.1+ accessibility, mobile responsiveness, SEO optimization, and integration with scheduling/EHR systems.</li><li>Manage CMS (WordPress, Drupal, or custom), SSL certificates, and performance monitoring.</li><li>Audio/Video Production (Basic)</li><li>Produce and edit short-form patient education videos, staff training modules, and telehealth backgrounds.</li><li>Manage in-clinic digital signage, waiting-room displays, and virtual meeting setups (Zoom/Teams).</li><li>Maintain A/V equipment inventory and troubleshoot issues.</li><li>Team &amp; Project Leadership</li><li>Supervise a small IT support team and coordinate with third-party MSPs.</li><li>Lead IT projects from needs assessment through implementation and training.</li><li>Create documentation, SOPs, and end-user training materials.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>5+ years managing IT infrastructure in a healthcare setting (large practice or hospital system).</li><li>Proven fiscal responsibility: track record of reducing IT spend by 15%+ while improving service levels.</li><li>Website expertise: full-stack capability (HTML/CSS/JS + PHP/.NET/Python) or deep WordPress/Drupal administration with custom plugin/theme development.</li><li>Basic A/V skills: proficiency with Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, microphone/lighting setups, and encoding for web.</li><li>Certifications (any): CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, Microsoft 365, HIPAA compliance training.</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>Experience with Epic, Cerner, or athenahealth EHR integrations</li><li>Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail) for healthcare team collaboration and documentation</li><li>Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) with healthcare data compliance</li><li>Basic scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) for repetitive tasks</li><li>Change management in clinical environments</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
