Job Duties
The Diesel Technician is a skilled position that is responsible for repairing and maintaining our customers Medium &amp; Heavy-Duty Trucks. This includes diagnosing issues, preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and re-assembly, and writing detailed work notes.
<ul><li>Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs.</li>
<li>Performs work outlined on repair order efficiently and accurately.</li>
<li>Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.</li>
<li>Communicates with Service Advisor on repair updates and/or delays.</li>
<li>Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.</li>
<li>Understands, keeps abreast and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Qualifications
<ul><li>Heavy-duty truck repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>
<li>Personal tools. Basic Hand Tools</li>
<li>ASE Certification a plus</li>
<li>Experience with Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, Cummins heavy-duty trucks and engines.</li>
<li>Basic computer skills</li>
<li>Valid CDL a plus</li>
</ul>
Physical Demands
<ul><li>Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.</li>
<li>Use of torque wrenches, air powered tools and hand tools.</li>
<li>Use of arms in a raised position above shoulder level for prolonged periods of time.</li>
<li>Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.</li>
<li>Entry and exit safely in and out of truck cab.</li>
<li>Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move more than 100 pounds.</li>
</ul>
Compensation: $22.00 - $30.00/hour + incentive
