The Pricing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive tender pricing strategies, and analyzing project risks to support bid decisions for infrastructure and construction projects. This role bridges technical understanding with commercial acumen to ensure profitable, competitive, and realistic pricing submissions while maintaining compliance with client requirements and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTender Preparation &amp; PricingAnalyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQs)Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and material quantity calculationsDevelop unit rates and build-up pricing for labor, materials, plant, and subcontractor worksIncorporate escalation factors, market fluctuations, and regional cost indices (e.g., Kuwait Central Tenders, UAE market rates)Apply mark-ups for overheads, profit margins, risk contingencies, and financing costsCost Analysis &amp; BenchmarkingConduct market research on material prices, labor rates, and equipment costs in the GCC regionBenchmark pricing against historical project data and industry standardsPerform value engineering analysis to optimize cost without compromising quality/scopeAnalyze competitor pricing strategies and market positioningRisk Assessment &amp; Commercial ReviewIdentify commercial risks in tender conditions (e.g., payment terms, penalties, variations)Quantify risk exposure and recommend pricing adjustments or bid/no-bid recommendationsReview contract conditions (FIDIC, bespoke) for pricing implicationsPrepare pricing assumptions and exclusions documentationCollaboration &amp; SubmissionCoordinate with planning engineers to incorporate schedule impacts on costs (e.g., acceleration, extended preliminaries)Liaise with procurement to obtain supplier/subcontractor quotationsSupport technical teams in clarifying scope ambiguities affecting pricingPrepare pricing narratives and commercial summaries for bid submissionPost-Tender SupportParticipate in bid clarification meetings and client negotiationsHand over pricing basis to project teams upon award for cost control baselineUpdate cost databases with actuals from completed projectsQualifications &amp; RequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fieldProfessional certification (MRICS, CIOB) is advantageousExperienceMinimum 5&ndash;7 years in pricing/estimation for civil works, infrastructure, or building projects in GCC marketsDemonstrated experience with major tenders (&gt;$10M) for government entities (e.g., Kuwait Ministry of Public Works, ADCC, RTA Dubai)Familiarity with regional tendering portals and procedures (e.g., Kuwait Central Tenders Authority, Dubai Tenders)Technical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros) and estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, WinEst)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of FIDIC contract suites and GCC standard tender documentsUnderstanding of local labor laws, material sourcing, and import regulations in Kuwait/UAE/GCCSoft SkillsHigh attention to detail and numerical accuracyStrong analytical and commercial judgmentAbility to work under tight tender deadlinesFluent in English (Arabic is highly advantageous for GCC tenders)Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Bid win rate on submitted tendersAccuracy of estimates vs. final project costs (&lt;10% variance target)Timely submission of pricing packages ahead of tender deadlinesContribution to gross margin achievement on awarded projectsAdditional InformationRole may require occasional travel to project sites for cost verificationMust maintain confidentiality of pricing strategies and client informationSupports ISO 9001 compliance in tendering and estimation processesJob Type: Full-time

Pricing Engineer

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely completion of construction and infrastructure projects within scope, budget, and quality standards. This role involves critical path analysis, resource planning, progress tracking, and providing data-driven insights to support project decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning &amp; Scheduling&middot; Develop detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project&middot; Break down project scope into work packages and activities (WBS development)&middot; Establish activity sequences, durations, milestones, and critical paths&middot; Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases into master schedulesMonitoring &amp; ControlTrack actual progress against baseline schedules and analyze variancesUpdate schedules weekly/monthly with progress data from site teamsIdentify potential delays, risks, and bottlenecks; propose mitigation measuresGenerate progress reports, S-curves, and lookahead schedules for management reviewStakeholder CoordinationLiaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams to gather schedule inputsSupport claims and delay analysis documentation when requiredAttend project meetings to present schedule status and advise on timeline impacts of changesReporting &amp; DocumentationPrepare schedule reports for internal management and client submissionsMaintain schedule documentation in compliance with ISO and company standardsSupport project close-out with as-built schedule updatesQualifications &amp; RequirementsEducationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related fieldMaster's degree or PMP/PMI-SP certification is a plusExperienceMinimum 4&ndash;6 years of experience in planning/scheduling for infrastructure, civil works, or construction projectsProven experience with large-scale projects (roads, utilities, buildings, or industrial facilities)Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and reporting skills (English required; Arabic is a plus for GCC roles)Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities under pressureAdditional InformationMay require occasional site visits to verify progress and coordinate with field teamsPosition supports compliance with ISO 9001/45001 project management standardsJob Type: Full-time
