 Here in the Medical Assessment Unit, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a Nurse who has UK NMC registration and are committed to providing the highest level of quality and safe care to a wide range of adult patients in a very busy, fast paced and challenging area and ideally suited to a nurse with recent acute medical experience.
 
 
 We are the first point of entry for medical patients admitted from the emergency department or directly from Borders Urgent Care Centre. You will also work closely with colleagues from specialist teams both within the hospital and in the community to ensure that we provide the right care, at the right time. The department is comprised of 30 beds with an additional 6 surge beds open although this is currently under review.
 
 
 You will be supported to maintain your professional development through our Clinical and Professional Development department, as well as being mentored and taught by our own Consultants with the aid of insitu simulation training. You will also be a passionate, patient focused and conscientious nurse who works well under pressure. You should be able to problem solve and provide gold star nursing admission documentation to support patient care. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential to working in this unit along with being able to work independently and flexibly.
 
 
 You will play a vital role in supporting the Senior Charge Nurse, Charge Nurses and other Registered Band 5 nurses as well as being jointly responsible for overseeing the work of the Health Care Support Workers on the ward.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered General Nurse to join our Oncology Nursing Team in the Day Case Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Day Case Unit, Borders Macmillan Centre, Borders General Hospital, Huntlyburn, Melrose, TD6 9BS.
 
 
 Demonstration of compassion and empathy is essential for caring for people with cancer and respectful team working. Applicants are required to have excellent communication and organisational skills.
 
 
 The post is based in a Nurse Led SACT delivery, day care unit therefore competency and experience in this field is desirable but not essential. For applicants who do not already hold a SACT qualification, commitment to undertake further study in the safe delivery of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) is expected, to be able to independently perform pre-SACT treatment assessments, including protocol guided analysis of blood results and SACT administration.  An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Dermatology Service where the team are developing a new model of care. We would like enthusiastic registered nurses who have an interest in Dermatology to join us to develop the service and deliver treatments. The posts will be based in Outpatients A in Borders General Hospital.
 
 
 Current nursing services provided include: application of topical treatments and dressings for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis; management of wounds including leg ulcers including application of compression bandages; provision of skin therapies such as ultraviolet B Phototherapy, Photodynamic Therapy and Iontophoresis; providing support and advice for patients and carers regarding acute and chronic skin diseases; assisting in skin biopsy procedures; contact allergy testing etc. In addition, there will be the opportunity to train to undertake nurse-led lesion photography clinics.
 
 
 Experience in dermatology nursing is preferred but training will be given &ndash; in-house training and further study involved, and possibly placements outwith NHS Borders.
 
 
 The post holder will require to undertake Exposure Prone Procedures.
