What are the typical hours on the job?
The hours of operation for the North Kansas City clinic are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.
What does a Patient Service Representative do?
As a patient service representative, you will perform front office duties, focusing on customer service and billing accuracy and efficiency.
What does a typical day on the job look like?
<ul><li>Completes patient registration and eligibility verification accurately and in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Demonstrates positive customer service attitude in person and on the telephone.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Informs patients of their co-pay/deductible responsibility, collects co-payments and patient balances and records payments accurately. Checks patients out and assists patients with scheduling follow up appointments. Coordinates receipt and transfer of patient medical records in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
</li><li>Schedules appointments efficiently to meet provider and patient expectations. Searches for patients using two patient identifiers to reduce errors and to avoid creating duplicate accounts.
</li><li>Demonstrates positive customer service attitude in person and on the telephone.</li>
<li>Demonstrates professionalism by articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility and accountability for actions, adhering to policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership supporting NKC Health initiatives.</li>

What are the requirements for the job?
<ul><li>High School diploma or GED equivalent</li>
<li>Two years of experience in a physician&rsquo;s office or healthcare setting</li>
<li>Customer service skills</li>
<li>Basic office skills</li>
<li>CPT and diagnosis coding experience is a plus</li>

In the GI Lab you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of RNs, GI techs, and CNAs, working seamlessly with anesthesia and GI services to deliver exceptional care. You'll play a vital role in ensuring top-tier care for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Assisting with advanced GI procedures such as EGD, colonoscopies, ERCP, EUS, manometry, Fibro Scan, PillCam, Bravo, and HALO. Rotating through all areas of GI will offer you a diverse and stimulating work environment. Our department boasts advanced certifications in GI specialties, providing opportunities for you to expand your skills and knowledge. With an in-house educator, you&rsquo;ll have access to tailored education and in-services to enhance your career development. 
 
Responsibilities
<ul><li>Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, RN, LPN, you will play a vital role in the care of patients by performing basic nursing care and support tasks on assigned units.</li>
<li>Provide patient care such as: ambulation, bathing, toileting, obtaining vital signs, all while maintaining a safe environment.</li>
<li>Provide pre-operative and post-operative recovery care, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and comfort.</li>
<li>Demonstrate effective communication skills to accurately convey patient information to RN, LPN and other members of the team in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Demonstrate basic computer skills to accurately record vital patient information.</li>
</ul>
Experience: Hospital experience-Preferred 
 
License/Certification/Education:
<ul><li>BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant)-Required</li>
<li>High School or Equivalent-Preferred</li></ul>
