Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician&rsquo;s orders, state and federal guideline, and the department policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
Maintains knowledge of the varying aspects of all things Pulmonary as allowed within the therapist scope and licensure of the long-term care facility.
Administers respiratory therapy treatments and interventions, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each.
Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation. Makes appropriate nursing contact for intervention.
Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures and maintains effective infection control.
Documents all pertinent data on the patient&rsquo;s medical record following completion of any extension of the Pulmonary Program.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on residents of varying acuity and age and life station.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently.
Maintains thorough knowledge of hazards of oxygen therapy.
Formulates care plan based on identified learning needs of a patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Patient&rsquo;s family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients&rsquo; needs are met and that physcian orders and facility policy is followed.
Demonstrates ability to assess patient, his/her need, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to treatment.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Attends and conducts education in-service programs to maintain professional competency. Obtains appropriate program-specific education and training.
Performs all additional duties as assigned by the department manager in charge. Therapist role is responsible for the daily operation of the shift, including work assignments, troubleshooting, responding to emergencies, and liaise with nurses.

Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements:<ul><li>
Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.</li><li>
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.</li><li>
Possesses and Maintains an active RRT credential.</li><li>
Current ACLS and BLS Certification</li></ul></div>

Respiratory Therapist

<div>We are seeking an experienced Clinical Resource Nurse, licensed as an RN in California who will partner with our clinical leaders of our facilities in California. The ideal candidate must possess at least five years of experience as a Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing Care facilities, have a strong understanding of CMS and CDPH regulatory requirements, possess the capacity to lead staff and be willing to travel amongst the assigned facilities on a frequent basis.

The primary purpose of your job position is to coach the Directors of Nursing in your region toward clinical, cultural, and financial excellence through intentional leadership. You will guide the teams to care for their residents and staff not only to meet the regulatory requirements but assist to refine processes that help the teams become the best care givers they can be. This job will require constant presence in the facilities and will not be remote. 


Qualifications

Education:
<ul><li> Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.</li></ul>

Licenses/Certifications:
<ul><li> Valid RN license in CA.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Valid CPR certification.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul>

Experience:
<ul><li> 5 years successful experience as a Director of Nursing or equivalent in long-term care preferred.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Multi-site experience preferred.</li></ul> 


Essential Functions
<ul><li> Conducts on-site reviews of clinical operations, medical records, and staff performance.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Review&rsquo;s facility clinical activities and collaborates on root-cause analysis and action plans.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Educates facility staff in clinical and regulatory issues, as well as facility policies.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Provides guidance and assistance to Directors of Nursing. Acts as a mentor for professional growth.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Identifies quality of care issues and takes appropriate action.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Validates the clinical competencies and effectiveness of the DON.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Is resourceful in provision of clinical staff training to achieve successful performance.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Participates with the orientation of the facility DON.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Quantifies data for tracking and trending, supporting a strong Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Communicates timely and skillfully, actively listens and functions effectively as a part of the team.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Provides Infection Prevention oversight and guidance.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Assists in the writing, implementation and follow through of facility plans of correction.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Is present for annual and complaint visits from CDPH to guide and support the Directors of Nursing and clinical team members.</li></ul> 


Other Functions
<ul><li> All other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Maintains resident confidentiality and ensures HIPAA compliance by facility nursing department.</li></ul>
