 The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for designing, defining, implementing system requirements, analyzing and/or testing Nordson products. Responsible for designing, testing, and implementing production methodology for new products. Responsible for providing input to ensure manufacturing success of new products and existing products. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

 Skills And Qualifications
 
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Requires BS degree and 3 &ndash; 5 years of experience or equivalent relative experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have understanding of Lean Manufacturing in a production environment, Lean/Six Sigma training.
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with SAP.
 </li>
 <li>
 Microsoft office, including Visio.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to interface with a wide variety of personnel in group and one-on-one settings.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Solidworks or other 3D modeling software.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication skills.

Mechanical Engineer II

 Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers. Responsibilities are within the supply chain and logistics function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.
 
 
 
 Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

 Locate and visit local suppliers based on business needs. Focus areas will be on sheet metal, machining, wire harness, and PCBs, but will include other spend categories to support localization of the supply chain in India
 </li>
 <li>
 Create and manage supplier expectations; establish KPI&rsquo;s to track performance and drive improvement with supplier
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide leadership and guidance to Buyer / Planner, which executes MRP material planning.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify and manage a Continuous Improvement (CI) pipeline to achieve cost, quality and delivery objectives
 </li>
 <li>
 Leads supplier audits, and/or quarterly business reviews
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide input and perform actions from supplier risk process
 </li>
 <li>
 Innovate and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and optimization
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Education And Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering and/or relevant work experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 10 years in a supply chain sourcing role; manufacturing environment and management experience preferred
 </li>
 <li>
 SAP experience highly desired

 Sound understanding of Purchasing practices across various commodities Experience with Lean
