Job Duties</b></p>
<div>
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<br>
<br>
<ul><li>Develop and manage program operations and academic affairs with the department chair and Program Coordinator (a requirement of the University and SACSCOC).</li><li>Lead strategic planning, assessment and reporting efforts, including a focus on accreditation compliance and coordination with the MPH Program at ODU.</li><li>Engage in scholarly activity, grantsmanship, professional development and service commensurate with faculty appointment type.</li><li>Teach courses.</li><li>Advise and mentor students.</li><li>Promote student development and academic achievement through tutoring, mentoring, referrals, recommendations, financial assistance via scholarships and engagement in curricular activities and service-learning.</li><li>Serve as chair of program committees, including to hire new faculty members.</li><li>Serve as the liaison to the School of Graduate Studies and Research to remain current on policies and procedures.</li><li>Participate on committees at NSU and as part of the JSPH</li><li>Pursue funding for program and faculty activities.</li><li>Represent NSU in JSPH activities (in coordination with the Executive Director of CPHI)
</li><li>Help create and chair a CPHI Advisory Committee.</li></ul></div>
<p><b>
Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<p>
1. An earned Master of Public Health degree.<br>
2. An earned terminal degree in public health (e.g., a DrPH or PhD)<br>
3. Experience teaching graduate students.<br>
4. Established skill in using web-based applications or learning management software to support teaching.<br>
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.<br>
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate partnerships.<br>
7. Knowledge of CEPH accreditation standards and competency-based education<br>
8. A record of scholarly achievement in teaching, research, service and professional development<br>
9. A commitment to the academic development and well-being of all students.</p>
<p><b>
Additional Considerations</b></p>
<p>
1. An earned Master of Public Health degree.<br>
2. Demonstrated leadership in a public health field at local, state or national levels.<br>
3. Experience in administrative leadership in an accredited academic public health program or school.<br>
4. Engagement and/or leadership in CEPH, ASPPH, APHA or other relevant national or statewide organizations related to public health.<br>
5. Experience teaching and mentoring MPH students.</p>
