Job Purpose
 Under limited supervision, the Dispatcher coordinates and dispatches buses to ensure safe, efficient, and on time service within an assigned geographic area.
 
Key Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Oversee daily routing and scheduling of buses; dispatch vehicles and provide timely route information to drivers</li>
<li>Monitor service to ensure on time performance and resolve route or service issues as they arise</li>
<li>Counsel and coach drivers and monitors on frontline service and disciplinary matters</li>
<li>Receive and address scheduling issues and driver concerns; resolve directly with customers when appropriate or escalate to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager</li>
<li>Manage heavy phone and radio traffic in a fast paced environment</li>
<li>Serve as the primary communication liaison with major contracted customers</li>
<li>Assist with charter reservations, billing, driver payroll, licensing monitoring, and driver hiring, as assigned</li>
<li>Provide solutions to pick up and drop off issues and ensure customer satisfaction</li>
<li>Support backup driver coverage or perform clerical duties while buses are in route</li>
<li>Complete special projects as assigned</li>
<li>Assist drivers with day to day operations and ensure compliance with operating contracts, company policies, and applicable state and local regulations</li>
</ul>
Minimum Education & Certifications
 <ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li>
<li>Possession of, or ability to obtain, a CDL Operator’s License with required endorsements and applicable state or local permits</li>
</ul>
Requirements & Expectations
 <ul>
<li>Minimum three (3) years of experience in the transportation industry</li>
<li>Managerial or supervisory experience preferred</li>
<li>CDL may be required based on contract</li>
<li>Strong verbal communication and customer service skills</li>
<li>Ability to work early morning hours and meet strict deadlines</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively under time constraints and in high volume environments</li>
<li>Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with employees, customers, and the public</li>
<li>Dress professionally and appropriately for a business environment</li>
<li>Perform all job duties safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines and applicable federal and state laws</li>
<li>Follow all company policies and procedures</li>
<li>Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Ability to use or learn internet based systems, required software programs, and office equipment (phones, fax machines, and other electronic devices)</li>
