<div>Before/After School EL Literacy Tutor (Middle School)
2026-2027
Funding Source: Title III Grant 
Location: North Andover Middle School (NAMS)
Supervisor: Principal or Assistant Principal
Schedule: 3 or 4 days/week, before or after school for 45 minutes each day for 10 weeks. There will be three 10 week sessions. Teachers can apply to tutor for one, two, or three 10-week sessions. 
Summary
The After School ESL Tutor will provide targeted linguistic and academic support to multilingual learners (MLs) in grades 6&ndash;8. The primary focus is to assist students in developing English literacy. The tutor will use a structured, evidence based phonics program with ELs to improve their fluency and comprehension as measured by the DIBELs assessment every two weeks. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Targeted Instruction: Deliver small-group or individual tutoring sessions using Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) strategies and Research-Based literacy instruction that responds to gaps as shown by DIBELs assessments</li><li>
Lesson Planning: Use available literacy data to drive instructional decisions and materials such as Wilson, OG, and/or Lexia.</li><li>
Progress Monitoring: Consult existing DIBELs data and contributes to bi-weekly progress monitoring efforts with the Reading teachers at NAMS and/or Special Education Liaison</li><li>
Social-Emotional Support: Create a culturally responsive and welcoming environment that values students&rsquo; home languages and backgrounds while encouraging English language risk-taking.</li><li>
Collaboration: Communicate progress, lesson plans and materials with Assistant Principal</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Certification: Valid Massachusetts Educator Licensure</li><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.</li><li>
Experience: Proven experience working with middle school-aged adolescents; prior experience with English Learners preferred</li><li>
Skills: * Fluency in a second language (specifically Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic) is highly desirable but not required.</li><li><ul><li>
Deep understanding of the WIDA Standards and Can-Do Descriptors.</li><li>
Ability to differentiate instruction for students at varying ELP (English Language Proficiency) levels (Levels 1&ndash;4).</li><li>
Credentials and experience in a structure phonics and/or literacy curriculum</li></ul></li></ul>
Compensation &amp; Terms<ul><li>
Salary: Compensation is set according to the NATA Unit A Contract (2023&ndash;2027). Hourly rate $40/hour</li><li>
Employment Period: This is a non-tenured, seasonal position based on grant funding (Title III) and student enrollment.</li><li>
Background Check: Candidates must clear a CORI and fingerprint-based SHRY check per NAPS policy and Massachusetts law.</li></ul>

<div>JOB TITLE: Library Administrative Assistant
LOCATION: District-wide (K-5 Elementary Schools and 6-8 Middle School)
SUPERVISOR: Curriculum Director 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The library administrative assistant assists the school librarians in the full utilization of library services, materials, and resources offered to students, faculty, and staff. 
QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
HS diploma or equivalent with education/experience mix as determined by the Superintendent of Schools.</li><li>
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills in working with students, school personnel, and community members.</li><li>
Proficient in technology and computer applications such as, but not limited to, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and emerging educational technologies, as well as standard office equipment (photocopiers, laminators, etc.).</li><li>
Highly organized with an ability to multi-task, perform detailed work accurately, take initiative, and work independently.</li><li>
Demonstrates ability to manage varied library tasks simultaneously, maintain an academic atmosphere, and develop positive relationships with students and staff.</li><li>
Preferred: Experience in a school library setting and/or working with students and library automation systems.</li><li>
Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation to travel between buildings in the district as required.</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Provide high-quality customer service in assisting students, faculty, and staff in locating, circulating, and using library resources.</li><li>
Work collaboratively with school librarians to maintain library collections, resources, supplies, and spaces (including processing, repairing, and shelving books).</li><li>
Maintain and update library displays as designed by school librarians.</li><li>
Adapt and acquire new skills and knowledge to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the library, including inventory and other library-related tasks.</li><li>
Maintain an employment record of regular attendance, arrive and depart at specified contractual times, and notify appropriate personnel when absent.</li><li>
Perform other duties that may be assigned by the school librarians or Curriculum Director.</li></ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must frequently access books on both low and high shelves via stooping, kneeling, and/or using a library stool. Must occasionally lift and/or move boxes and library materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in an educational environment that is moderately noisy with frequent interruptions. Travel across the district is required. 
WORK YEAR: 44 weeks 
SALARY: As negotiated by the North Andover School Committee and North Andover School Administrative Assistants&rsquo; Association.</div>
