<div>Job Title: Sixth Grade Elementary Teacher 
Reports To: Building Principal<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Position Summary</h3>
The Elementary Teacher is responsible for guiding students toward achieving their full potential academically, emotionally, and socially. This role involves creating a positive learning environment, delivering effective instruction, and supporting the broader school community through collaboration and engagement.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>
Maintain accurate records in compliance with NLCS policies and state guidelines.</li><li>
Demonstrate professional ethics and foster a respectful learning environment.</li><li>
Establish and maintain collaborative and professional relationships with colleagues, students, and families.</li><li>
Model professionalism, including appropriate attire and behavior.</li><li>
Effectively manage the classroom environment, ensuring discipline and order are upheld.</li><li>
Demonstrate expertise in subject matter and instructional delivery.</li><li>
Adhere to school schedules; arrive and dismiss classes on time, attend required meetings punctually.</li><li>
Deliver content with enthusiasm, clarity, and confidence.</li><li>
Monitor student behavior and ensure student safety and engagement.</li><li>
Show respect and consideration for all students, staff, parents, and community members.</li><li>
Communicate instructional goals clearly and ensure lessons align with those objectives.</li><li>
Protect and care for school property used in instructional activities.</li><li>
Maintain an inventory of classroom texts, supplies, and equipment.</li><li>
Foster positive school-community relationships.</li><li>
Report concerns regarding student attendance, health, or well-being to the principal or guidance counselor.</li><li>
Participate in committees and co-curricular activities as required.</li><li>
Attend all required faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and events as scheduled.</li><li>
Perform additional duties as assigned by the building principal or superintendent.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h3><ul><li>
Valid Indiana Teaching License (K&ndash;6 certification).</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Commitment to supporting the academic and personal growth of all students.</li><li>
Proficiency in instructional design and use of innovative, interactive teaching strategies.</li><li>
In-depth knowledge of best teaching practices and Indiana Academic Standards.</li><li>
Demonstrated teacher-leadership experience preferred.</li><li>
Ability to set priorities, meet goals, and collaborate effectively with colleagues to drive student achievement.</li></ul></div>
