Part-Time Administrative Assistant, TRIO
Campus Location: Lynn/Danvers
Work Schedule: Up to 20 hrs. a week. M-F 8:30-12:30 or T-F 8:30-1:30
SALARY: $21.63/hr., non-Benefited; Grant funded through August 31, 2026
At this time, the College is not providing sponsorships for Visas.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Assists in the oversight of activities and prioritization of tasks for the TRIO Program, ensuring all appropriate communication of services on each campus. This position is based on the Lynn campus with some assigned activities on the Danvers campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul><li>Provides front desk coverage; greets guests, answer calls, and schedules appointments as needed.</li><li>
Assists students with signing in and using TRIO computers, troubleshooting problems and helping them use MyNorthshore, Navigate, and Blackboard</li><li>
Enters and monitors student data in Banner, Blumen and other databases to track program progress toward federal objectives.</li><li>
Assists with creating and updating applications, tracking forms and fliers; generating and preparing reports (including Annual Performance Report and Cognos reports); and maintaining and overseeing student files and records.</li><li>
Prepares, maintains and oversees student files and records</li><li>
Coordinates logistics for TRIO seminars on Lynn campus, including scheduling rooms and promotion</li><li>
Assists with logistics for TRIO/SSS events for Lynn &amp;Danvers campuses including invitations, meal planning, room reservations, media requirements, supplies and attendee responses</li><li>
Prepares and monitors student sign-up sheets for tutors and TRIO activities then records them in Blumen.</li><li>
Places reminder calls to students regarding appointments and TRIO activities</li><li>
Monitors office inventory and equipment functionality; orders office supplies and places equipment servicing requests for both TRIO offices.</li><li>
Prepares requisitions for supplies, busses, travel, reimbursements and facilities requests, frequently communicating with outside vendors and other NSCC departments (such as Fiscal</li><li>
Affairs, Human Resources, Facilities, Academic Affairs, etc.)</li><li>
Updates TRIO website; monitors and contributes to social media postings</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li></ul> 

Job Requirements: 
<ul><li>
Associates Degree in related field; two years related experience in office management, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, desktop publishing software, databases and social media platforms. Experience with Zoom, Banner and website design preferred.</li><li>
Student focused, with strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills required.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Ability to commute to either campus as required</li><li>
Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations; experience working with TRIO eligible populations preferred.</li><li>
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.</li></ul>

Campus Location: Lynn and Danvers
Work Schedule: 11am-5pm Monday (Lynn), 1-7pm Tuesday (Danvers), 1-7pm Wednesday (Lynn), One (Two during peak times) Saturday per Month (Lynn/Remote)
SALARY: $36.55/hr.; non-benefited, MCCC unit position.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, the purpose of the classification is to administer diagnostic computerized placement examinations to new and returning students for English, Reading, and Math placement. Employees in this classification perform administrative work involving computerized test administration. Classification is responsible for administering computerized placement examinations, interpreting test scores, explaining scores and course recommendations to students, and entering data into computer system. Performs related work as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Administer and proctor computerized placement examinations to new and returning students, interprets placement scores, and determines course placement and course recommendations based on test scores</li><li>
Administer and proctor other tests as needed, e.g. faculty course testing, HiSET, etc.</li><li>
Enters data into BANNER, e.g. test scores; performs general data management</li><li>
Works with a variety of testing platforms, e.g. Exam Soft, Pearson, ATI</li><li>
Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities, e.g. downloads rosters, checks students in and out of testing</li><li>
Performs miscellaneous tasks in support of overall department operations, e.g. assists with CLEP registrations</li><li>
Interacts with various agencies/individuals, e.g. answers student questions regarding testing, communicates with other departments, students, advisors, faculty members, etc.</li></ul> 

Job Requirements: 
<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related field</li><li>
One (1) year experience and/or training involving computerized test administration, computer program manipulation, or computer operations in an academic environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li>
Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>
Technical proficiency</li><li>
Experience with Banner preferred</li><li>
