Cab Crane Operator (Overhead Crane)
 Night Shift (6 PM – 6 AM)
 
Position Summary
 
As a Cab Crane Operator, you will operate an overhead crane from an elevated cab to move steel plates, pipe, and structural materials throughout the facility.
 
This role requires strong hand-eye coordination, situational awareness, and a commitment to safety. You will work closely with production, welding, and yard teams to ensure materials are moved efficiently without compromising safety or product quality.
 
This is a night shift role (6 PM – 6 AM) requiring focus, discipline, and consistent execution.
 
What You’ll Be Responsible For
 <ul>
<li>Operate cab-controlled overhead cranes to move steel materials safely and efficiently</li>
<li>Lift, position, and transport loads including plate, pipe, and structural steel</li>
<li>Follow all rigging signals and communication protocols with ground personnel</li>
<li>Inspect crane equipment and rigging before use to ensure safe operation</li>
<li>Maintain precise control to prevent load swing, damage, or safety hazards</li>
<li>Support production flow by staging materials for welding, fitting, and processing</li>
<li>Identify and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately</li>
<li>Maintain clean and organized work areas</li>
<li>Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times</li>
</ul>
What It Takes to Be Successful
 <ul>
<li>Proven experience operating cab-controlled overhead cranes in an industrial environment</li>
<li>Strong understanding of load control, balance, and safe lifting practices</li>
<li>Ability to read and respond to hand signals and radio communication</li>
<li>High level of situational awareness and attention to detail</li>
<li>Ability to operate smoothly and consistently in a fast-paced production environment</li>
<li>Strong commitment to safety and following procedures</li>
<li>Dependable and able to maintain focus during 12-hour night shifts</li>
</ul>
Preferred Experience (Strongly Valued)
 <ul>
<li>Experience handling steel plate, pipe, or large structural materials</li>
<li>Familiarity with rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, etc.)</li>
<li>Prior experience in manufacturing or steel service center environments</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.</li>
<li>Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.</li>
<li>Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.</li>
<li>Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.</li>
<li>Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.</li>
<li>Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment</li>
</ul>

<li>Criminal background check: reviewed in accordance with job duties, the nature and gravity of any convictions, and the time elapsed since the offense or sentence completion.</li>
<li>Pre-hire drug screening: candidates must pass a drug screen to be eligible for hire.</li>
<li>Physical assessment: required for all Production and Distribution positions, conducted by a company-designated physician at no cost to the candidate.</li>
</ul>
