Position Summary
 
Under the direction of a Lead WW Conveyance System Operator(s) and/or WW Conveyance Supervisor(s), the Conveyance System Operator II performs and plans the operation, maintenance, and monitoring activities in the wastewater conveyance system. This position performs a variety of work assignments to ensure acceptable asset condition, water quality, and health and safety standards are met or exceeded; and performs related work as required to ensure efficient and effective conveyance system operations.
 
Job Responsibilities
 
<ul>
<li>Monitors, analyzes, and recommends adjustments to facility operations through observation, collecting and testing samples, reading instrumentation, and using SCADA to ensure compliant and efficient operations.</li>
<li>Participates in an environment of Integrity, Trust, Respect, Unity, Safety, and Teamwork.</li>
<li>Notifies appropriate personnel of abnormal conditions, needed repairs and renewal. Coordinates with maintenance personnel on repairs. Plans, performs, and implements maintenance procedures for facility assets.</li>
<li>Maintains thorough logs and records in both written and electronic form as required. Uses these records to suggest ideas to improve the function and efficiency of various operations.</li>
<li>Observes safety policies and guidelines as required by State statutes and as prescribed by NTMWD.</li>
<li>Monitors the facility for any breaches of security and alerts appropriate law enforcement agencies and/or supervisors, as appropriate for the situation.</li>
<li>Monitors systems and assets during emergencies and planned shutdowns. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and reports problems. Responds to emergencies as directed.</li>
<li>Maintains facility grounds and performs general housekeeping.</li>
<li>Receives shipments, monitors unloading processes, checks shipment documents for accuracy, and ensures documents are submitted to appropriate personnel.</li>
<li>Learns and complies with applicable policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>

Job Requirements
 
Education & Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Possess a high school diploma or GED. An associate degree or trade certification is preferred.</li>
<li>Possess two (2) years of experience in wastewater conveyance and pumping or a suitable combination of directly relevant education and experience, as determined by NTMWD.</li>
<li>Maintain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class II Wastewater Collection Operator's License or Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License.</li>
<li>Maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.</li>
<li>Driving a District vehicle for NTMWD business will be required. Must maintain a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of resident state.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Maintain knowledge of wastewater conveyance and pumping processes, compliance requirements, operations and maintenance requirements, and reporting/record keeping requirements; including the ability to troubleshoot wastewater equipment and processes and perform wastewater tests and interpret results.</li>
<li>Must communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, peers and subordinates.</li>
<li>Maintain basic computer skills, and electrical and mechanical knowledge.</li>
</ul>
Environmental and Physical Conditions
 Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
 The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in a wastewater conveyance environment. The position involves sitting (up to 6 hours per day), frequent standing, frequent walking, light to heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.), light carrying, frequent bending and reaching, keyboarding, and telephone operation. It often requires an irregular work schedule and overtime hours. Specific physical conditions require frequent work with chemicals, tools, machinery, moving mechanical parts, etc.
 The duties and responsibilities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Moderate to heavy exposure to sun, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, biological hazards, rain, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials and chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, and water hazards are common. Performs and reviews work at locations that involve hazardous environments requiring the physical ability to wear and work using personal protective equipment (PPE) that meet or exceed guidelines such as established by OSHA which may result in some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, odors, chemicals and noise. The position may require work in confined spaces, on ladders and rooftops, and in adverse weather conditions with appropriate training.

Position Summary
 This position is responsible for the transport of solid waste from a Transfer Station to the landfill following a designated route. The driver is responsible for the safe operation, care and appearance of assigned vehicle.
 
Job Responsibilities

<li>Transport solid waste to designated site.</li>
<li>Monitor condition of mechanical equipment and notify appropriate shop personnel of needed repairs or any operational problems including proper Pre and Post trip inspections.</li>
<li>Observe all safety guidelines and policies as initiated by the NTMWD.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs and good housekeeping.</li>
<li>May be responsible for responding to various emergency situations as directed by supervisor.</li>
<li>Work may vary depending on task requirements and volume and may include general site cleanup.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements
 
Education & Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Must possess a high school diploma or GED.</li>
<li>Requires a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License and good driving record.</li>
<li>Minimum of three years prior experience in the operation of Class A CDL vehicles.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of tools (screwdriver, wrench, etc.) and how to use them.</li>
<li>Must possess the ability to use e-mail, internet, smart phone, Tablet</li>
</ul>
Environmental and Physical Working Conditions
 
Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state. Work conditions primarily include outdoor activities but may vary from indoor to outdoor. Outdoor activities may involve exposure to odor, hot, cold, dusty, dirty, and/or noisy conditions. Activities may require sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, picking up trash, pushing, pulling, carrying, dragging up to 75 pounds of equipment. Work may vary depending on task requirements.
