Platform Loader plays a crucial role in the efficient loading of products onto trailers, ensuring adherence to load sheets and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This entry-level position requires basic literacy skills, the ability to follow instructions, and a keen eye for detail. The Platform Loader is responsible for moving and loading products, conducting trailer checks, and supporting overall warehouse operations.
Role &amp; Responsibilities
<ul><li>
Move product (stacks or racks) from packaging lines to the appropriate trailer or staging area.</li><li>
Organize product staging areas and lanes to facilitate efficient loading.</li><li>
Load products from the staging area to trailers, ensuring proper stacking and preventing shipment of damaged goods.</li><li>
Remove out-of-code products, check date and price codes regularly and label accordingly.</li><li>
Keep floor areas, including Bond St. Platform, private label dock, D-Center loading area, and empty tray area, clean and organized.</li><li>
Serve as a break person for other shipping employees on various lines and/or platforms.</li><li>
Work on the platform, including unloading in-bound (purchased) products.</li><li>
Complete paperwork (load sheets, block sheets) with accuracy and neatness.</li><li>
Perform trailer checks, including sweeping and checking for damage, and submit information to the department manager.</li><li>
Inform supervisors in advance of the floor inventory of empty trays and other equipment.</li><li>
Communicate with packaging employees to ensure accurate product counts on each truck, reconciling trailer paperwork to packaging wrap sheets.</li></ul>

Safety:
<ul><li>
Maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines and reporting incidents to management.</li><li>
Promote employee safety in all areas of operations.</li></ul>

Sanitation:
<ul><li>
Maintain cleanliness of the work area.</li><li>
Always follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).</li></ul>
Requirements &amp; Physical Demands
<ul><li>
Able to count and perform basic math.</li><li>
Able to read and comprehend department materials and specifically load sheets.</li><li>
Capable of lifting or maneuvering up to 50 pounds.</li><li>
Able to stand for long periods.</li><li>
Able to reach approximately 7 feet high to move product.</li><li>
Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant.</li><li>
Able to view products and determine adherence to quality control standards.</li><li>
Able to read, comprehend, and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.</li><li>
Performance of other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.</li></ul>
